George Takei: They interned my family. Don’t let them do it to Muslims.

The argument does not work on me, because I am fine with what FDR did.

I may or may not be fine with doing that sort of thing again.

I am currently accepting arguments.

George needs to calm down. Talk by some PAC chairman is just talk. How about we wait until we see if this is ACTUALLY something that might be attempted before we start pushing the panic button?

THat is what Kissinger keeps saying, and I do believe he makes a lot of sense.

"Innocent till proven guilty" used to be a THING.

I miss those days.

I never said that. The establishment DNC and GOP have held hands on this issue. If you haven't noticed, the recent presidential election results were in fact the American people telling the establishment wing of both parties to take a flying ****.

That's most likely correct.
It would have been more effective had they voted third party and ousted most of Congressional incumbents, but telling the establishment wing of the parties they've had enough could well be what got Trump elected.

And now that he's elected, we'll get to see what's in him (to paraphrase a prominent member of the establishment Democrats).

I don't want the "Syrian" radical muslims in camps, I don't want them on U.S. Soil at all. Send them home.

Whether that home is in some African country (because we all know that few of the "Syrian" Refugees, are either from Syria, or Refugees) or from somewhere in the M.E., just send them home.

We'll never have security or prosperity (given how silly expensive they are!) as long as they are here!

Ohh. and put freak'n Obama in Prison for the rest of his life for bringing them here!

People who want gun control keep telling us that we have too many homicides per year. Then they turn around and support refugees coming here who will probably add to those homicide numbers. Confusing.

Its about POWER, not saving lives.

We were at war with Germany back in the early '40s, yet we welcomed, nay recruited, Germans to come to the USA and are better off for having done so. Ever hear of Operation Paperclip? Does the name Van Braun ring any bells?

Sure, this makes sense if you believe we should just get rid of all the people. No people, no homicides.

Actually, we have 325 million people. We're the 3rd highest population nation on the planet. There's no risk of running out of people lol.

That fear isn't coming from nowhere.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-muslim-registry-prominent-trump-backer-says/

A former spokesman for a major super PAC backing Donald Trump said Wednesday that the mass internment of Japanese Americans during World War II was a “precedent” for the president-elect’s plans to create a registry for immigrants from Muslim countries.

During an appearance on Megyn Kelly’s Fox News show, Carl Higbie said a registry proposal being discussed by Trump’s immigration advisers would be legal and would “hold constitutional muster.”

“We’ve done it with Iran back awhile ago. We did it during World War II with the Japanese,” said Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and until Nov. 9, the spokesman for the pro-Trump Great America PAC.

Kelly seemed taken aback by the idea.

“Come on, you’re not proposing we go back to the days of internment camps, I hope,” she said.

“I’m not proposing that at all,” Higbie told her. “But I’m just saying there is precedent for it.”
