[FONT=&quot]Hillary Clinton told top banking executives that she has “both a public and a private position” on Wall Street reform and is reliant on wealthy donors to fund her campaign, leaked excerpts of the former first lady’s speeches seem to show, fueling claims of hypocrisy on the part of Mrs. Clinton at a crucial moment in the presidential campaign.

Does Trump have both a public and private position on certain issues, making him a hypocrite?

Probably a lot of issues Trump's a hypocrite on. He's about as honest with his positions as Hillary Clinton, meaning not at all.

Dare I make a compliment on that crooked old hag, but I believe this is a completely normal thing.

Personally, I believe abortion should be illegal, in lieu of easier adoption processes. However, legally I don't want to see it "banned," since it violates someone's conscious freedom of choice.

I also believe a lot of entitlements should be eliminated because too many people abuse/take advantage of them, and it puts undue weight on our economy. I also see their necessity for the folks who actually need it, and won't abuse it.

You know that's not what she's talking about right?

I think that's a pretty good post there, Elvis.

I agree 100% in your general supposition here.

I get bashed a bit sometimes on some of my relatively liberal positions here. But in my private & personal life I generally make more conservative choices, including with my mores and personal ethos. But I very strongly believe in my fellow Americans having great freedom and strong protection. Even though I myself would not practice much of what my desired freedoms & protections allow!

"Live & Let Live", if you will.

I honestly don't think Trump has firmly formulated a position on any issue, let alone two of them

That's a good question. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything that gives a good answer.

My impression of Trump is that he says what he means, so I think it's likely he'll say the same thing no matter who he's talking to.

Another consideration is the question of "why" a person would have differing public and private positions. I think the most likely answer to that is that a person tells someone what they think the person wants to hear...for some sort of return. For example, Hillary might tell the voters she cares about the effects of Wall Street on their personal monetary situation and then turns around and makes differing statements to Wall Street. Most likely she wants different things from each...votes from the voters and money from Wall Street. I don't think it's likely Trump is motivated by anything like that.

However, in that example we don't actually have any idea what Hillary's personal position could be. All we know is what she tells different groups.

I guess, when it comes right down to it, we'll just have to wait and see what Trump does and says during the next four years to get an answer to your question.

I thought everyone is trying to figure all that out.
