Was the Election Rigged

If Trump had lost, the Right would be squealing about the rigged election like stuck pigs. We all know that---hell, they laid the groundwork for said whine long before a single ballot was cast. Well, Trump won, so now the Right is defending the integrity of the election while the Left is saying, "The Russians hacked the voting machines."

And, they may have a point.

Did Russia Hack The Election For Trump? Here's What People Are Saying...: Gothamist

What say yee? Was she rigged?

No, and the sky is not falling either.

I find it really amusing that people are so adamant and confident that the election was NOT rigged. How the **** do you know? I don't know how every person in Florida voted, and i certainly don't know if that lines up with the official numbers.

Were the voting machines rigged? I have no reason to think so. But it seems obvious that the election was rigged in some ways. Like how Comey used the FBI to influence voters.

You need to get out of the house and do things.

The only rigging of the election was Trump voters lying to pollsters and messing up the ability of the Clinton establishment from accurately gauging the popular sentiments. When you win the popular vote but lose the real vote, in the electoral college, clearly you ran a poor campaign and were fooled. Should have campaigned in Wisconsin. You may have won. And campaigned more in other "rust belt states", as Bill C. wanted.
From what I read, Blacks did not show up to vote in the big cities and too many far Lefties voted for Jill Stein or stayed home because Hillary did not promise them enough goodies.

lol...I am working too much this month to have fun. This is it, right here. My entertainment

Factually incorrect terminology you use there.

Former White House Ethics Counsel under President Bush says what Comey did was most likely illegal and a violation of the Hatch Act. And he should know.

Ex-White House lawyer: FBI Director broke law with 'unusual' letter - Business Insider

You gallivanted around here for a year acting as if you were some genius and expert regarding politics, massively self assured of the absolute absurdity of a Trump victory or a Hillary lost, and recognizing that your analysis was woefully inept and utterly failed you are now espousing opinions and arguments that demonstrably false in a ridiculous attempt to justify to yourself that reality is not what it is

1- More people voted for Clinton so I was partly right.
2- I never anticipated the sort of blatant illegally that Comey engaged i to shift the election.
3- frankly - I thought Trump was dead with women voters - it shows how many have a low opinion of their own gender.

Is entirely irrelevant to the notion of the legitimacy of the presidency, since for the entire history of these united states, the popular vote has never been the determining factor of deciding who the president is.

It's not my fault you're opinion is idiotic and born of either a clear misunderstanding or willful ignoring of what the term illegitimate actually means.

Its a combination of things that make Trump illegitimate. And I provided them for you.

The idea that ANY president elected purely by electoral vote without the popular vote also in this day and age renders anyone open to the charge of being illegitimate. Combine that with the illegal actions of Comey -and its complete.

Sorry, but Donald Trump is set to become the lawful President of the United States, in accordance with the laws and rule that have governed this country for over two centuries. Your displeasure over that fact, your displeasure over our electoral system and our constitution, your misguided belief that your understanding of the law, your absurd attempts to point at red herrings like the popular vote, none of those things in any way, shape, or form change that fact. So you can sit there and whine and moan declaring that he's "illegitimate" all you want; that doesn't change that you'd be factually, unquestionably, provably, incorrect

If being wrong on one election disqualifies a person, I am in fine company as I know of NO PERSON in the USA who predicted that Clinton would win the popular vote by more than a million votes while Trump would win the EC.

But feel free to present that list right here.

You mean former Hillary Clinton supporter and Trump detractor; truly, the most unbiased of sources in the midst of the election. And I've seen his statement on it, and it's full of holes. Namely, for it to be a violation of the hatch act it must be proven that he did it for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the result of an election. And the article is filled with nothing but assumptions and supposition, rather than any kind of hard evidence, to suggest that it is any way provable that the purpose of Comey's release was for interfering with the election as opposed to a plethora of other potential purposes.

Also, and it truly pains me that I actually have to inform you of this piece, but the random belief of an ethics counselor is not in any way the basis for which illegality is proven or determined in this country. I'm sorry that you're apparently showing such utter disdain and disrespect for our legal system and the rights bestowed upon citizens in this country of innocent until proven guilty, but your displeasure and distaste with our legal system is not a legitimate means of ignoring it. The reality is that Comey has not even been CHARGED with any crime, let alone actually convicted, so any accusation of him breaking the law is a rather hollow cry. Especially when it's born off frivolous and hollow arguments such as has been submitted.

And none of the things you provided in any way make him illegitimate. I already highlighted why that's the case. Again, you can have your illogical, incorrect, wrongful opinion. And I'll point out that said opinion is factually wrong.

So I can take the word of the White House Counsel for Ethics under President Bush or I can take your evaluation of the situation. Thats easy. He is knowledgable. He is experienced. He is educated in the area we are talking about. And you are merely here.

Of course this does not determine guilt in a court of law. Hopefully, that will come in time. But that is not the point. Legitimacy is something that is a sheen - like respectability or like honesty. It is earned and it is perceived and it is held by the person issuing that opinion based on how they see things. And the Comey actions are enough to raise that ugly specter. It does not matter if he has not yet been indicted. It does not matter if he ever is indicted. He has already done enough to stain the process.

The thing that you just don't get is that this is party YOUR FAULT. You and everyone who supports the EC despite knowing that the second place finisher in the vote of the people can end up in the White House. You support it knowing that. You support it knowing that in 2000, it was decided by a one vote margin on a badly divided Supreme Court arguing about hanging chads in one state.

And then when the critics of the EC mechanism come forth - you bristle.

And when the critics of the EC mechanism point out the flaws in the system - you take umbrage.

And when the critics of the EC mechanism raise serious issues regarding this hold over from an age which no longer exists - you get irked... you lash out ... you attack .... you bare your fangs and you mock in partisan anger.

And you brought all this upon yourself and your fellow EC supporters because you knew the chances in advance and you rolled the dice anyways.

And you brought this on Trump. And in the eyes of many Americans, and I suspect that list will grow over time, those who view his presidency as illegitimate will only grow because you saddled him with a system that makes a loser in one category a winner in another category. All because you want to retain discredited mechanism from the 1700's that was designed to thwart the will of the people. Well the will of the people has indeed been thwarted. You reap what you sow.

The reality is that some 120 to 130 million Americans vote. And the reality is that the EC turns that entire process into a mockery because it permits the efforts of all those voters to be reduced to a mere step in a process that turns the actual decision over to elites that renders their decision moot.

As long as you and others support that system - you will have to accept that it gives us a president that is viewed as illegitimate by many Americans. That is simply a card you dealt yourself and have only your own support for that system to blame.

And all the anger aimed at me does not change that reality.

Come on. Be real here. First, we all know the rules: win the electoral votes based on states and their population.

Donald won 306 ev's; HIllary only 232. Donald won 30 states; Hillary only 20. Hillary had 1.5 million (give or take) more popular votes. Guess what? Only the first two numbers on that list matter.

Again, I am not saying Trump did not win. There is no dispute that he did win. But because of the EC, any winner of and the loser of the popular vote will always be open to a charge of being illegitimate. And with the illegal actions of Comey, Trump is doubly so open.

I do not blame anyone who questions Trump's legitimacy.

Good God! Just Stop Already!

Great, now I've got some asshole on Facebook trying to compare the election of Trump to the ENABLING ACT.

maybe that is why the Hildabeast actually "won" the popular vote?

Seems we have a split on that here just like the presidential vote itself. One side says Hillary's people stuffed paper ballot boxes while the other says Russians hacked the computers to count extra votes for Trump.
