No, no, no... they have been creamed in the last two midterms.

Now this.

You see... Demokrats lost their Rabbit in the Hat.

They do not have anyone to sell the pile of manure called their party platform.

Obama was a one off.

Their next attempt at a pulling a rabbit from the hat... The Vagina Monologues, in concert with the Corrupt News Networks, Demokrat Partei, and even assistance from some Republicans couldn't make the case for The Manure Platform.

As for beating the empty suit called Obama... Trump showed how it is done. You do not cower. McCain and Romney did.

I think the combining of the centrists into a new brand working people's party is clearly the direction things will go.

Who will step up to lead that new party remains to be seen.

If the old school, establishment GOP gives Trump too much crud, Trump might found the new party.

But I rather think it will be some young, charismatic, intelligent, entrapeneurship oriented, half-latino woman from the political center.

A woman with the the soul and wit of Ben Shapiro.

It's a rather time-tested and proven fact that "we" alternate rather frequently between who has controlling power in Washington.

It's also rather time-tested that the party that controls things gets overly cocky and their base gets pretty lazy, while the other party and their base figure out a way to rally the support they need to re-take Washington.

It's a very safe bet that the R's will lose control to the D's in the not to distant future.

There is one difference this time, though. This time the vote seemed to be more about rejecting the ruling CLASS rather than rejecting the ruling PARTY. The seeds for a radical shift in US politics are there. I guess we'll find out soon enough what becomes of it but I wouldn't be at all surprised if four years from now our two party system resembles something along the lines of populism vs. establishment elite with lines of distinction between Democrat and Republican so blurred they are almost irrelevant.

I have a more cynical view and don't believe this will cause long term harm to the Democrat brand. The primary reason is it appears the left has won the cultural war. At this point, with much of the mainstream media, entertainment, universities, and large urban areas essentially being both the brand and mouthpiece for the American left, more and more those that don't believe what they are being told (Conservatives and Libertarians) are pushed to the fringes.

Yes, the Republican ticket won and actually does control all three branches. But even so, popular culture reviles conservatives. I wish things were different but as long as Thomas Jefferson cannot be quoted at an American University (Univ of Virginia) without trigger warnings and condemnation -- corruption, scandal, and their outright intolerance will just be cast as business as usual, conspiracy theories, and diversity.

But I really believe their longevity will be due to "bread and circuses". As Robert Heinlien put it...

As long as someone is offering bread and circuses -- especially at the expense of someone else -- it is unlikely they are going away.

Although I do not believe voting should be limited to "producers", I do believe that people will vote themselves free money until all the money is gone. If that is a corrupt politician giving them that "free money", they simply ignore the corruption and cash the check.

I do not disagree that America is divided, and it Appears as though the Left as won the culture wars... APPEARS...

It was Apparent that Hillary was going to win the 2016 election in a landslide too.

The Leftie Elite CONTROLS the mouthpieces of the culture wars, the MSM, the Colleges, the public primary schools, Hollywood and ....

wait,... they don't, and never did control Nashville!?... Country Music has always been relatively Conservative.

... and they don't control ALL of Hollywood, there are some very popular conservative idealistic actors and movies.

... and there are the midwest small catholic colleges were a good, grounded, practical technical education can be found.

... and conservative have dominated talk radio for three decades.

You're right about Bread and Circuses, it must stop. But then we're broke, heavily in debt, and our creditors are about to close down, and/or shut off completely, the credit spigot... so we'll have to cut back on Bread and Circuses.

We need lots of options in political party to vote for, and I wouldn't mind have 3,4,5 or more viable parties.

None of them should be the completely corruption stained Democratic Party Brand.

Let the Greens and Libertarians and the TEA Patriots come forth!

And when we do re-create a new Working Man's party Brand, it needs to be much more:

I read a media spokesman talking about how the MSM and the Pollsters got it so very WRONG.

He said "The MSM/Pollsters took Trump literally, but not Seriously. The Working People of America, took Trump Seriously, but not Literally".

Just to be fair, obama should not be on the list, terrible lackluster maybe, but corruption, he probably has less scandals or issues than any other modern president, which is the exact opposite of hillary.

Well, I won't belittle your concerns in any way at all. I too think America is a long ways from being in a safe place politically, financially, and with respect to social stability.

But If Obama did pardon all Illegal Immigrants for the crime of entering the USA without permission, that still doesn't give them instanct citizenship, nor give them the right to vote.

If Obama pardons them for voting as non-citizens, that might clear them from being penalized for past crimes, but as President, he cannot pardon them from future voting crimes.

Our long term safety and stability resides in return BOTH political parties to observance of the Rule-of-Law!

Which is why the subject of the OP is so critical!

In 2012-2016, the Democrats went over the deep end in corruption and criminal political activities, as shown the Project Veritas investigations.

Now, they MUST be held accountable.

Forcing them to completely abandon the Democrat Party Political BRAND NAME, is one, but not the only step in that process.

The Democratic Party needs to go onto the trash heap.

We need to do thorough investigations and prosecutions of the various types of voter fraud and political manipulation seen in the 2016 election cycle.

But America NEEDS a slightly left of center, working people's polical party. It is not an option. We MUST allow for that vital political position to have a voice and representation. Or we will never attain stability and prosperity.

I'm not saying that huge swaths of the FAR-Leftie agenda which has become U.S. Policy and Programs... that's a must just to balance the budget.

The poltics of America, devolved into criminal pandering, bias, bigotry, dirty tricks and massive opinion manipulation.

This is particularly true of the Left, but the GOP RINOs did their part too!

As we dismantle the machine, we MUST build its replacement!

But as we dismantle the Democratic Party Crime Machine, we need to sow the seeds of replacing it with a Working People's Political Party which is:

Based on observance of the Rule-of-Law
Honorable
Tolerant
Observant
Cooperative
Race/Gender/Orientation Blind
Pragmatic
Humble
and most of all, founded by and on Integrity!
