As far as I know, a direct death threat to the President is a capital crime.

The fringe is often difficult and probably still is restricted to that group. Should it move to the liberal center as seems a danger as I watch cnn talking heads, it could become sticky.

I agree it is a major issue to see death threats like this, but it is an eloquent set of examples about what *some* Modern Liberals will think up if they do not get their way even if the posts themselves becomes argumentative in intentions.

Irregardless of the "Domestic Terrorism" brand, it is still illegal and potentially these tweets could have a consequence. It is still a felony to threaten the President (by extension the President elect.)

The problem with the brand domestic terrorism is how the Patriot Act redefined the term. Without getting into too many details it is basically an after the fact add on crime.

There are crazies in both parties. It's a sad reflection of the state of our politics. People need to tone it down and focus on finding areas in which they can agree rather than keep pushing issues which the country is split 49-49% on.

This is nothing new. Every POTUS has had death threats- thats what the SS is for. In Obama's term the conservatives wanted to kill him, now with Trump its the liberals who want to kill him. :beam:

Judging by the complete crazier than a sh*thouse rat response by the left regarding DJT being elected, I'm thinking these threats are from mainstream leftists. These threats, riots, the works. It always happens when the left doesn't get their way. It never fails.

No, in Obama's Term, SOME very few people who self-identified as "Conservatives" wanted to kill him. The total percentage of people making these death threats, then or now, is a very, very small fraction of the American People. The vast bulk of people who call themselve "Conservatives" would tell you that based on the other ideas and comments of those who made the few death threats against Obama, that they were not really "Conservatives" at all, but something not readily defined, because it is so rare, that is a Radical on the Political Right end of the spectrum.

It is my observation that there are allot more kooks screaming death threats against Trump now, than there were ever directed toward Obama. Most people were too afraid of retribution by the Federal Police, to voice death threats against Obama, the first Black, and therefore, specially protected class, President.

Additionally, it is not in the nature of a true "Conservative" to want to kill anyone, since that is radical change. Conservatives want to protect and preserve the status quo and tradition.

I think a huge number of American Citizen's, including myself, thought that Obama committed TREASON on a number of occassions, and wanted him to be impeached, removed from office, and prosecuted for his violations of the Law, Oath of Office, and the Constitution... but that is a very different thing, than supporting outright political assassination.
