For the US, we are more a mixed economic model that leans towards market than one that is "market based." Spending on infrastructure and technology by government has never been proved to be bad economics, quite the opposite. We have far more economic study that tells us spending on infrastructure especially tends to have repetitive long term returns.
I think its the messenger not the message.
The democrats who push this message, usually do so like this:
The top 1% of Americans have enjoyed sticking it to the 99% for too long, its time for change, the 99% have spoken. We need to take back what is ours.
Pop the cap on SS, raise taxes, strengthen unions, government run healthcare, etc., etc.
Now, bewildering to dems everywhere, as seen in the shock and horror captured digitally this week, a large number of average Americans absolutely will not stand for that hate speech.
Bashing Americans for ambition and success is about as anti-american as you can get in some circles, and yes, they are OK with the fact that they themselves are not wealthy. After all, that would be hypocritical to only care if it only benefited them, selfish right? That these rural people have some common decency is infuriating right?
Because not only do Democrats bash the wealthy/successful, they do so specifically offering to replace that, with big government.
The hypocrisy is unreal...demonize a minority with hate speech for government power, while claiming to oppose the demonizing of minority groups.
But no really, its how to improve the economy....the message is lost in the hate speech.
