You don't get to go someplace just because you are black. You don't get to go someplace just because you are a woman. You have to earn it. You can't buy it. You can't steal it. You can't connive your way into it. You have to earn it. Women have chosen NOT to face that reality. When women stop trying to use being a woman as their ticket onto that next level, maybe things will change. Besides, everybody knows that a woman's place is in the home.

And, upon reflection, I always thought that Barack H. Obama was our 44TH President. Wasn't he the one who claimed to have visited all 57 states? Are people who struggle with numbers as ignorant as they look?

In this country, white men took what they wanted by force. It is and always will be about power. Who has it and how they use it against those who don't. This myth about earning your way is not supported by history. Women did not have the right to vote until 1920 because men used their power to deny it to them. Women are not, in general, using being a woman as their ticket to the next level and you have no evidence to suggest this. You have no idea who has or hasn't earned anything, male or female, black or white. As if men haven't ever used being a man to their advantage.

I agree with this ... she is a fake. I don't believe SHE believed one word that came out of her mouth. That said, the words that did come out were done well.

I'd love to hear what she REALLY said last night and this morning to her confidants. That poison vitriol must have been heady and thick.

Power is real as is its exercise. Women and blacks were denied rights through the exercise of power by white men. I guess they should have just shrugged it off. What I said is strictly about power and how it was actually used and how grudgingly it has been shred. There is nothing about excuses, failure and victimization. Look at the use of power through history. That is reality, not your mythical view that only those who earn something get it.
 
Good speech convincingly delivered. She should have been half that good on stump.

Whether she really believes what she said is irrelevant. She said the right words.

I missed Trump's acceptance speech - I fell asleep around 1am. I heard he did a good job as well. I have to find it.
 
Whoever did the audio for the NBC coverage of the speech should be fired.

Also, whoever made the decision to have forty-five minutes of nothing at the front of it also needs to be fired.
 
I see a high likelihood that H. Clinton will go down in history as the most hated politician in American History... particularly after the man she delivered to us as President turns out to be such an epic ****show that it permanently changes America for the worst.

The jig is up. The party is over. No more free lunch. Failure by any measure is still failure. Making excuses will get you a few more years in Mom's basement, but it won't get you a cup of coffee in the real world. Clinging to the failures of the past is useless. Time to get a job and make a contribution. Now, I hope you can go out and have yourself a very nice day.

What a load of empty rhetoric. The past was not about failure, it was about denial of power by those in power. Have fun in your fantasy world where everyone is equal and only separated by the effort they put in. Never mind about those who use power to their advantage and to promote their own gain at the expense of others. That stuff doesn't happen in your land of make believe.

I would wager had you been born in the circumstances of the average black American you'd be dead by now. I imagine if you were born a woman you'd be a kept, ignorant, unambitious wife, subject to the whims of your man (hope he's not violent!). Earn THAT.
