Which is why I chose

A buddy swears by fried turkey. I smoked a small one last year to go along with the traditional roasted one. It was a hit.

I like fried turkey but its expensive and it takes skill to be done really good. Smoked is by far my favorite

We should have chosen better people, when we had the chance during the Primaries. In the case of the Republicans it would have been easy. There were a few relatively good alternatives among the major candidates. But even the Democrats had acceptable people on offer. It wasn't a choice only between a mad socialist hippy and a criminal.

But we chose the two now standing.

Got a story about a turkey fryer. When they first became popular, I went out and got one...and then read the instructions and saw that I had to have peanut oil to do it properly. So I went all over the city and the next city over to try to find some peanut oil...and there was none to be had. So I got the bright idea that maybe the peanut oil was for the flavoring, so I used Wesson Oil and dumped in a small can of peanuts for the flavor.

Okay, you can stop laughing now.

Anyway, when I pulled the turkey out, it was completely jet black...I mean, it doesn't get any blacker than that! The meat was done well, and it tasted pretty good, consistency was good...but it sure looked stupid, having that completely black turkey in the middle of the dinner table....

Smoked turkey is often black and its delicious but yeah that peanut oil is the killer it costs more than the turkey itself

Im not sure who else the democrats had up, or even could have had up. The GOP has a diverse cast of young stars, the dems have Booker and the Castro bros

Your problem was the smoke point (temperature when the oil breaks down) of the cooking oil selected. To be safe use an oil with a smoke point of at least 400F degrees and montor its temperature while frying your turkey.

Thanks, but I'm not doing the turkey thing this year. I've cooked it for the family almost every year since the early 90's, and I'm tired of the hassle (and so is my wife).

Actually I would have voted for Jim Webb. He's a decent man.

I would have too but its clear that he was never a contender nor his positions tenable in the national democratic party

Well, even that Biden fellow wouldn't have done any worse than the Lady.
