That was a comment on race and racism and I think the rise of Trump proves he was right. Trump tapped into that vast sea of whites that have lost their position in society. Instead of blaming a black President they should have looked at the "job creators". They are the ones that stole their legacy, well actually it was given willingly because they believed Reagan when he told them that giving the job creators all the money and power would trickle down to them. It was possibly the biggest con game in human history.

After Obama's election back in 2008 I heard this. There are bunch of white people walking around feeling like they came home from work to find all their stuff out on the lawn and their wife had left them.......for a black man. That feeling has festered in them for 8 years and it is very unhealthy. I hope you are not one of them.

They would be doing much better, have more perspective, had Clinton not produced that bubble the way he did.

Except the feelings Trump tapped into extend well beyond 2008 and have little or nothing to do with Obama and even less to do with his color. He often links it back to NAFTA in the 1990's and argues that jobs leaving the country has been going on for decades. White working class is generally recognized a democrat leaning segment, but democrats have ignored them for years and many are turning to Trump

Clinton was slippery and charismatic. Good for the country and for the greatest stretches of the citizenry he really wasn't.

That was the Socialist global hegemony that stole their livelihoods. The Progressive Left is just part of that. Both attempting to tear America down.

The white working class union member was a democratic supporter in general, not all but a significant majority. But I expect as unions declined (along with white working class incomes) the white working class voter probably has turned toward republicans especially over the last 16 years. Now I am not saying it is a cause and effect linking declining incomes of white working class americans and decline in unions, but it does correlate fairly well

I believe they are the primary supporters of groups like the Tea Party
