Obama's Legacy?

No way to know. But if I were to guess, they would say he did a good job in very trying times.

What I do like to say is that everyone is going to miss Obama soon, even the people that pretend they hate him. There's a lot of those, although the White Supremacist crowd may not.

Geez, the race card already.

And what are we going to miss about Obama?

How will Obama be viewed as president 100 years from now?

The last President with any ability to head off the Disintegration of the global economy, but who failed to see it coming.

The last President with any ability to head off the The Rebellion (working name, it will change), but who failed to see it coming.

THe President who claimed to be reforming the Healthcare system but who did not have enough understanding of the problem, so he made it worse.

The guy who had the ability to head off Clinton Corp knowing how corrupt it was and he also knew of the incompetence of Hillary, but did not, making him the person most responsible for the failed (or is it "the disastrous"?) Clinton Presidency.

The President who squandered what little good that could have come out of the disastrous $5 TRILLION invasion of Iraq military adventure.

The President who wasted 8 years on a clearly not going to work policy to deal with N Koreans Nukes, consequences of which are not known but which are likely to suck.

The President who failed to act in Syria, and thus is partly responsible for the Muslim hordes which invaded a weak Europe, bringing Europe to its knees, and thus speeding up the rise of the China/Russia/Iran cooperative because they were not able to act as a opposition to that rise, leaving an also very weak USA as the only speedbump, which ended up to not be all that much due to social breakdown and massive indebtedness.

He will always be remembered as the first black president of the United States - and not much more.

1. First Black President

2. Eroding Borders and strengthening ties with foreign nations. Vietnam, Cuba, Middle East. Those countries adore him.

3. Obamacare. Especially if we have single payer by then.

Someone who for the most part stayed true to his ideals (as much as I may disagree with them) to solve a crisis that he for the most part inherited (contrary to some people saying that he caused the economic crisis of 2008, which is just a laughable ****ing notion).

The recovery has been disgustingly slow, but it's a little too early to really figure things out in terms of "why."

I think obamacare is probably going to be looked down upon, if not as a system that should have been scrapped, then as a system that should have been improved upon (although there is still a chance some future candidate may try to reform it).

In any case, I think you know as well as I that trying to answer a question like this when the guy isnt even out of office is kind of silly.

Especially when were talking about 100 years into the future, that's most likely what most people would remember the most about Obama.

I figure they will butter up the turd like they do with FDR. I'm not sure how they will make Obama look respectable though.

What about the Philippines, Russia, and ISIS? And Obamacare is a failure, haven't you heard about the skyrocketing costs next year?

He won't be remembered, except possibly as the first black president.

1) Flood of illegals.
2) Obamacare
3) Obamaphones
4) Tripled the National debt in only eight years.
5) Increased racial divide.

One of the worst presidents of all time.

I don't agree with Obama on much of anything, but I think history will view him rather favorably. Not because of any great string of accomplishments, but because his time was a time of economic growth and relative peace. Even Obamacare wont collapse during his tenure. It will happen in the future, and whoever sits in the White House when it does collapse, will likely get the blame and face the heat. If you think about it, he really hasn't gotten much in the way of legislation passed since 2010. So in a way, he has been largely ineffectual, non transformative, and irrelevant. But since that ineffectual, non transformative irrelevancy took place in a period of relative peace and economic growth, he will land somewhere in the top 20

Race card ? How lazy and predictable.

You dont get to double the debt on the kids and grandkids charge card in only 8 years and then act like the economy is all OK. Plus where the rubber meets the road the economy is the worst it has been since the Great Depression for a lot of folks, and this is AFTER all of the inter generational subsidies.

EDIT: Obama will get the tar and feather treatment for ObamaCare, because the name he chose was "ObamaCare" and because it was obvious before it ever started that it could not work. The fact that no one but the R's was willing to tell the truth about that does not shift responsibility for the bad act down the line.

Not my opinion, this is just how he will be remembered. The details of it all won't really matter.

one of the most corrupt presidents in the 20th century?

With the revelations from WikiLeaks, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the case.

The last President with any ability to head off the Disintegration of the global economy, but who failed to see it coming.

Although, I have to admit, this list above is thorough and well thought out.

In actuality, I think, it takes around 20 years before any sort of inkling as to how history will view his presidency.

Ya Shrub was counting on that, he said that after he died we would know that he made the right call on Iraq, he said that as he left office.

Only 8 years later we are sure that it was a bad call, there is no chance of a change on that.

The guy is still very much alive.

Bush doubled the debt. Reagan doubled the debt. Chances are every president from here on out will do the same. As for the economy it is doing quite well. Its not growing much and is being propped up by the central bank and deficits, but any blame for a financial collapse will, unfortunately, land in the lap of whoever is president when it collapses. Just ask people like Hoover, Carter and Bush.

Ya, they were all allowed to purchase their economic numbers on the back of massive inter generational subsidies.

**** em all and it"s time for a renewal of morality.
