Just like during the last economic crisis, homeless encampments are popping up all over the nation as poverty grows at a very alarming rate. According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than half a million people are homeless in America right now, but that figure is increasing by the day. And it isn’t just adults that we are talking about. It has been reported that that the number of homeless children in this country has risen by 60 percent since the last recession, and Poverty USA says that a total of 1.6 million children slept either in a homeless shelter or in some other form of emergency housing at some point last year. Yes, the stock market may have been experiencing a temporary boom for the last couple of years, but for those on the low end of the economic scale things have just continued to deteriorate.

Tent Cities Full Of Homeless People Are Booming In Cities All Over America As Poverty Spikes | Zero Hedge

Empty Demo promises and a pack of lies for decades.
Bill Clinton signing NAFTA was a big one.
Lefty pandering to the poor and the Blacks, another big one.
Higher minimum wage
Schools run by libs graduating dummies so they get the Federal money...on and on..........

It's called Obamanomics. Wreck, destroy, create chaos.

Taking in more immigrants while the homeless and blacks go without jobs.

I'd have to agree with both of these points. Obamanomics / socialist economics at it's best.

Obama May Become First President Since Hoover Not to See 3% GDP Growth

SIMPLY THE WORST=> Obama is First President Ever to Not See Single Year of 3% GDP Growth

When I first became a police officer we had a dozen or so people who lived outside. Fifteen years later, with a good economy, we had hundreds. What changed? The government started subsidizing bums. A lot were getting SSI for "permanent emotional disabilities." For awhile, being a drunk or a junkie qualified you for SSI, as long as you didn't clean up. I think they changed that and now the drunks and junkies have to see a psychologist who will, for two of your SSI checks, give you a permanent emotional disability. All got food stamps. Some had Medicaid cards. Our city, after the Californians arrived, kept building homeless shelters that were basically for visitors from other places.

I was taking a guy to jail one night and I said, "You're young, educated, and still have your teeth. Why don't you quit drinking, get a job, and have a life." His response was, "Oh, man, if I quit drinking I'd lose everything." He listed what he would lose, starting with his SSI, and went on down through subsidized housing. Can't quit drinking or he'd lose all of it.

When times are hard some people try to make ends meet but the government stops them. Remember the woman near Houston who dared to sell home-made tamales? She got a $700 fine delivered by post card and an order to stop. A young couple in our town were cutting lawns and they were forced to stop, too. No business license, no landscaper's license, no sales tax permit. Working in the U.S. isn't easy and the government doesn't like it.

It's a lot easier to be a bum when someone if giving you a bed to sleep in, food to eat, free medical care, and cash to buy your favorite drug.

Of course the homeless are increasing in numbers.

Many can't find living-wage work because companies are hiring part-time low-wage, and the past living-wage jobs have been off-shored, out-sourced, and in-sourced (many illegally) for wage-slave peanuts.

Many have run out of unemployment.

Many have relatives who have stopped taking care of them.

The effects of the Great Recession are understandably still with us.

And our government officials, whom we entrust to promote our general economic welfare and provide for our common economic defense have utterly failed us.

THIS. When people keep bleating on about how we need to bring in MORE illegal immigrants I cannot help but ask...WTF is wrong with you? OBVIOUSLY you are not the head of a household or providing for a household because if you WERE you would be smart enough to understand that there is ALWAYS a finite number of resources and too many dependents overburdens the budget to the point of collapse. Immigration is meant to be balanced with potential and need...not just because the poor dears have it bad in their home country.

You dont suppose the morons and assclowns that support bringing in 20-30 million illegal immigrants have anything to do with it do you? Or those that continue to promote reckless spending? Or the idiots that supported dumping responsibility for health care on employers?

Just like obsolete equipment, the Democrats under Obama see the American workforce as obsolete and have worked for eight years to swap it out for a hungrier, more desperate worker who is accustomed to looking over his shoulder in fear of being replaced. Those who know poverty will do anything not to go back. That's the worker the democrats are trying to engineer.

Welcome to Obama's America.

Sacramento is crawling with hundreds of homeless, and no one in power gives a damn. Is as if we can't do anything... like crabgrass in your lawn. You just accept it as the way it is. That is California liberal thinking.

It's funny that people still choose to blame Dems or Repubs when really it's the entire economic system that is reaching its natural capacity. We can't grow into infinity. Europe is facing crisis too... is that Obama's fault? What about Japan? South Korea?

Open your eyes and take off your partisan blinders. The world does not revolve around your American party politics. There are much bigger issues at stake.

The bailouts that Bush instigated and Obama carried on with were just a temporary patch. By all measures our economy should have collapsed before Obama took office, but we've been propping it up by borrowing fiat currency from the Federal Reserve -- aka money that has no real value.

Plus, working is optional in America.

Yes to your first question, yes to your second question, and yes to your third question!

I do suppose all of those .. and more.

But, they're assclowns.

Though I should thus expect such behavior from assclowns, like you, I despise that behavior.

We need to get the assclowns out.

Either that or find a way to make them remove the assclown suits.

Yes, they've failed the nation.

REGULATION NATION: Obama oversees expansion of the regulatory state

Regulations Strangling Small Business Growth

Red Tape Is Strangling the Recovery

CBO: Obamacare Driving Millions Out of Work Force, Price Tag Tops $2 Trillion

So which piece of signature Obama legislation is worth keeping?

I do believe that you are not satisfied with the performance of the political elite, and that the political elite need to be voted out of office.

I couldn't agree more.

So by your logic the US became socialist in 2005 because of slow GDP growth?

No, socialist public policy, or more accurately socialist-like, have thwarted the economic recovery, specifically ObamaCare and the tidal wave of regulation Obama's administration have instituted, most notably from the EPA, and other federal agencies. A binge of ineffective and counter productive micro-management, if you ask me.

What "socialist public policy"?
The ACA is in no way socialized medicine. Its still private for profit ran healthcare.

Food stamp president: Enrollment up 70 percent under Obama
Food Stamp Growth 75X Greater than Job Creation

Economically, not much to cheer about, yet Obama still makes these claims 'believe me, don't believe your lying eyes' (or the numbers).

Yeah, thanks Obama.
You know what that chart shows? We need MORE spending. OBVIOUSLY....we arent spending enough in social services.

Err. No.

We need to revitalize business growth to employ more people, growing demand, and cut back on social spending. It's already eating some 65% of the non-discretionary budget.

More accurately 'socialist-like'.

I think ObamaCare is a fine example of the arrogance of the political elite, believing their 'theories' have any real applicability in the real world. Turns out they don't.

Are you sure? Because...we could...like...DOUBLE the welfare spending. Maybe triple it. Just sayin...

Contrary to liberal thinking, promote the general welfare does not mean writing larger welfare checks.

Your second point - common economic defense? Where did that come from?

Is this supposed to be satire?

Taking in more immigrants while the homeless and blacks go without jobs.

That bugs the crap out of me. We've got about the same number of low skill citizen workers as we have low skill illegals taking the low skill jobs. It seems like a simple equation to solve.

Ahh. OK. Missed your earlier sarcasm, but got it now.
