Chrisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses

Maybe it is "The First Family Detail", by Kessler? I recently bought that one, too, but have not started it yet.

It could be. I borrowed it from a friend and from the excerpts I found online I couldn't really tell. Sorry!

Finished it a few days ago.

Those of you who in this thread who are prattling on and condemning the book for your various reasons are just a bunch of partisan political ass-hacks. It's clear you haven't read it, and it's clear that your protests are nothing more than fart wind out your collective asses. If you had read it, you'd have something solid to condemn.

The book, while marketed as an expose on the Clintons, and especially Hillary, really doesn't have very much at all about Bill Clinton, and really seriously almost nothing at all about Hillary. Gary Byrne (the author) was assigned to Bill's detail for a time, and had some observations, dealings with Monica, but he only related what he knew, not what he suspected or what was speculation. And Hillary just stormed in and out of his view a couple times, and that's literally it regarding her. He was not assigned to her detail, and in that sense I feel the marketing was very misleading. Intentionally misleading, is my guess, because Hillary's name is what sold the book.

In short, the book is NOT about the Clintons. The book is a memoir of Gary Byrne. It wasn't necessarily uninteresting. I did gain some knowledge of government security things (nothing critical), but at the same time it just wasn't that interesting, either. While I did read the whole thing, I would not recommend it to anyone else.
