MODS: I did not see a racism topic for this thread so i thought it might go here.

So, boys and girls, here I am having concluded a business trip to Little Rock and had included a trip further north in AR to see a good friend.
All well and good and I am just entering the town of Harrison, AR and see this billboard a big as day with a drawn Dad, Mom, and a boy and a girl, all white and in huge letters....White Power Radio. com at the top and at the bottom in slightly smaller font...AltRightTV.com.

I damn near ran off the road! This was only on the 19th of this month! Making a mental note to take a photo on my way back, I found it was too dangerous to pull over there. However, if someone is skilled at google earth, all you need to do is find the junction of US Hwy 65 and AR Hwy 7. It is on the left side about one mile south of that junction.

I tried to do a search and other billboards came up, but not this last one that I saw.

Freedom of speech? Yes. Offensive to me? Yes. Did it make me reach back and and touch the grips of my 1911 .45 Automatic as I drove on by? Yes.

Now, please put away that broad brush. My friend lives close to there and is very "new age", spiritual, and a kind and loving person to everyone.
I also stayed in a motel for those "inquiring minds that want to know".
I do sincerely hope someone gets a pic of this new sign. it is no better than the others, but says they are making a continued effort to widen the divide between the races.

I don't know about the paid Google Earth but free Google Earth those street view pictures only update every three or four years.

Just out of curiousity do you consider this "racist?"

https://www.facebook.com/BlackPowerRadio

Black Power Radio Online Radio | BlogTalkRadio

Just wondering what your standards on what is and is not "racist" are.

My personal standards for racist, racism, ect are saying one race is better than another.
I would think that would be self-explanitory.
The terms "white power", "black power" or of that type I do not like and also consider racist IF...IF...they are advocating one race being better than another.
Now, lets see how many focus on the first part and ignore the second part of what i just said?

but my personal views have nothing to do with anything.
I thought the billboard was a bit over the top and only made this thread to let each person decide for them self.

Well, I know my neighbor told his grandkids to keep track of the playhouse he is building for them when they visit by using Google Earth.
He told me they can see its stages. Though i know not what version they are using.

You are probably right. I was more concentrating on keeping my truck on the road, and making the turn onto 7 than the exact verbage.

OK, I hope I dont get in trouble, I was only trying to help facilitate Truth.

Then we agree.

Unfortunately though, for many it is NOT "self-explanatory;" as they allege that only one group can be truly racist, and that is the whole set containing "White people."

I just wanted to see if you fell into that category or not.

FACTUAL information is always better than 'kinda", and in this case you are 100% correct as to what they are pointing to with the billboard.

You have no idea how prophetic your post was and is.
I had this very discussion with my lady friend, and one of her group said ONLY...only... white people can be racist.
That got a huge eye roll for almost everyone present. (8 people).

Ya I know and DP is awesome but I live in a world where speaking Truth is no longer a GET OUT OF JAIL CARD when one is charged with a speech crime.

I tend to get a little twitchy.

SAD TIMES

That is the beauty of the internet though.
It has no real effect on your real life.

I agree that the billboard, if it was similar to the one posted above, would be over-the-top for my tastes as well, but I think it's more important to figure out what's causing this rather than focusing solely on the recent increase in these types of groups.

What you saw was a visible reaction to a certain sect of society that has been trying to shove whites into a closet of shame for the past few years. You're seeing greater racial division and you're seeing a response to what those people feel is being unfairly targeted.

Until we deal with the catalyst, we're not going to be able to deal with the fallout. But, yeah, I think that sign went too far.

While both I and the dictionary agree with you on the definition of racism it seems in popular usage today it's been largely redefined to mean oppression by a dominant racial group - i.e. racism today means what "institutionalized racism" used to mean. Leaves us without a word for what racism used to mean - the belief that one race is inherently superior to another.

It seems that updates are done when the latest satellite image is sufficiently clear. I also noticed that I could tell when the image of my address was captured since I was moving several 16x16x4 blocks from the yard to place them under the piers supporting my mobile home during the process of re-leveling it.

I consider that sign racist since loving your people appears to exclude those people do not that share your race as being worthy of love. While it did not go so far as to say don't love people of other races it certainly celebrates racial preference.

I grew up on BLACK PRIDE and WOMEN ARE WONDERFUL and THE FUTURE IS WOMEN so that does not bother me.

We gotta have some consistency.

I am being very consistent. There is a huge difference between saying accept (respect?) all people including "my kind" as your equal and saying show more love (respect?) for people that happen to share your race, gender or ethnicity than other people.

On the other hand, taking pride in simply having an immutable trait (e.g. race, gender or ethnicity) that you did nothing to acheive is moronic but not necessarily bigoted.

For myself, such a sign might not be so wrongful if i personally have not received any 'negative' actions from any 'White Power' person and if I was of another race. To me, such a sign would only let me to know what kind of place i should be respectful within. Unless of course I was in a middle of some 'race' war with other races. But as an individual living in The U.S. to not receive any negative actions due to my 'racial' makeup has been that way all the days of my life. I have never been the majority White so why should I begin to think as if I was? So what? They say 'White Power'? And? What are they saying, 'Join us and pick up arms and join the White Power war against races'? Not at all. They are just expressing themselves. So the flip side. If I was 'white' and drove into a neighborhood of mostly 'Black Power', should i not understand that the majority living there would probably be 'black'? But hey? What do I have against 'black' persons anyway, right? Why would I need to have my rights felt more if it never was in my U.S life? Too strange for 'races' to pick and make wars against other races all because of a few added decades to their life in the U.S.

This just goes to show that there was a 'schism' of sorts in U.S life that a person would think or believe or feel as if a few added years or decades to their U.S citizenship gave them permissions and rights to make all the fuss and huss about things that were already there when that person might have only been 12 or 13. And then to 'join' in on any 'race war'? That is just crazy and uninformed and dangerous.

San Francisco Castro District was Gay Power. But the Thai restaurant they had there was delicious!

Living in such places as White Power can be alot more 'normal' feeling than living in Color Power with so many different diversities of everything including ideas of how to be a mindful citizen.

Herein is a much more 'wicked' thing than White Power. Seeking to run believers, and lawful believers, to the ground. Much more 'wicked' is this than any White Power or Black Power or Vietnamese Power or Chinese Power, etc.... trying to run down 'law keepers' who are faithful to Good and Heaven. Why would any 'law keeping' resident be needed to be runned down all because of their personal 'faith'?

So I was driving in to a certain city when I saw a billboard sign which read, 'All believers not allowed'. Was I shocked? Not really. Was I infuriated? Not really. Was I scared? You better believe it.

After all, the Mayor is trying to keep peace and order and law, right?

Now if I was a resident to a certain place for a while where it had no White Power but was Vietnamese Power, and all of a sudden that White Power was put up, then I might be shocked. Little Rock Arkansas? Not White at all? I don't know...

Little Rock is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Arkansas. It is also the county seat of Pulaski County.

The county is named for Casimir Pulaski, a Polish volunteer who saved George Washington's life during the American Revolutionary War.

Are 'Polish' not 'White'?

They look 'White' to me.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/eb/A_Polish_family_registering_at_No.17_Displaced_Persons_Assembly_Centre_in_Hamburg_Zoological_Gardens%2C_18_May_1945._BU6634.jpg

So what forms of oppression might these 'Whites' give me if I was living in their neighborhood? Probably not much. I might not have alot of 'friends' if I thought of them as being overly 'lording' but that would be my own cause, not theirs. Especially if i was unable to receive and reciprocate their kindness if they showed it to me.

Where there are 'home owners', there's usually lawfulness. Where home owners are scarce, the higher the probability of non Lawful persons.

Home ownership and apartment renting are not the same. I gathered this piece of information up. When you see certain persons walking about, you can usually tell if they are nearby 'home owners or home owned dwellers', or if they are 'nearby apartment renters' or if they 'new arrivals'.

Persons come and go. Apartment Complexes and Homes do not.

So with such persons, I guess it would be safe to assume that they either have a 'home' nearby or an 'apartment' nearby. Which is safe to assume, right?

Here is a possible way of looking at this. What is the distance between your home and the venue.. Now that distance in all directions could give you a general ball park raidius figure to work from to see if that person would be from nearby or not.

Now if you have a general idea to the 'diversities' within that circle inner area, you can gauge if a certain person is from within that inner circle area or not.
