Teacher loses right of appeal

A UK teacher was taken off the plane on which he was escorting British pupils on a visit to the USA. He's English born, brought up in Wales, and has never visited any of the listed countries. The only logical reason for a valid visa-holder being ejected from the flight is that his given name is Mohammed.

Welsh high school teacher on class trip kicked off flight to US despite holding valid visa | Wales - ITV News

He was actually half-way there in Iceland, where they had a one-day educational stopover, when he was "randomly" stopped, searched, and even let aboard the plane with his fellow teachers and pupils, before being removed. He was given no reason.

Other countries handle things the way they want to. If you're going to blame discrimination, then we have to blame the Muslims themselves for not stepping up to the plate and dissuading people of the notion that Muslims by and large are in a jihad. I know how that sounds, but too many people are just ignorant and that's how discrimination spreads.

What does exactly? What facts in this article leads you to believe that what happened with that teacher "makes us look pathetic"? Please do tell.

Ignorance.

Through out that article there was no reason given for the teacher to be pulled off of the plane. It even says that straight out. Yet here you are, and the article, both suggesting and implying that it was done because of Trump's EO. No facts given other than that he was coming to the US and was in Iceland and on a school field trip.

None.

Do you not see how this is idiotic? How it is irresponsible "journalism"? It is this kind of crap that is exactly why more and more people are disregarding what the media says. Half truths and implications is all that I've seen in the media for quite awhile...but for the past year its been far worse than I have ever seen in over 40 years.

Uh, where does the OP mention that this had anything to do with Trump? I missed that.

It's his innocent fault for American stupidity and ignorance is how it sounds.

Sure it does. Americans are one of the chief reasons for all of the Muslim discrimination as it is.

If one takes security seriously, these thinhs will happen. Ted Kennedy had something similar happen to him at one point.

Did Ted Kennedy fail the assisting a fellow passenger with a flotation device safety instructions?

As far as I'm concerned, I don't care about the why. This is just plain ridiculous.

I'd say that the "why" is very important. If it was a mistake then such needs to be corrected. If it was for a valid reason that the article doesn't want to get into then it was a good thing. If it was due to prejudice then that needs to be addressed. I could think of a number of reasons that we need to know the "why" before drawing to any conclusions.

Yes, ignorance is definitely what this article gives. That and emotionalism.

I don't know, this "Muslim" thing is only worsening a problem rather than handling it for what it is.

So having said that and in anticipation of your answer being to support "handling Islamic Terrorism", I'll ask you this question: During The Troubles in Northern Ireland was Sinn Féin and the IRA a "Catholic problem"?

I'm sure you could explain how this is?

We've meddled and usurped in the M.E. for more than a hundred years now and turning all of this into the rhetoric of "A war on Islam" is the paragon of ignorance. Trump has gone down the rabbit hole with this now and all it does is steel anti American sentiment amongst the ignorant.

You're assuming that what happened with this teacher had anything to do with Islam. As I've already pointed out there is no information on why what happened with the teacher happened.

As for Sinn Fein, and the IRA, no clue as I don't know the history of it.

As for what's going on in the ME, that area has been a hotbed of conflict for thousands of years. The problems with the ME go far far deeper than anything that the US has done. Are we a contributing factor? Undoubtedly. But remember, it takes two to tango. The people in the ME that perpetuate whats going on are no more innocent than the war mongers here in the US either.

I don't know in tjis case, but he did fail to help his passenger in the Chappaquiddick, if that's any help.

The purpose of the article was to highlight how this person was denied being given a reason.

Unless the school teacher was mistreated, IE: assaulted, abused, etc etc the "how" is irrelevant. Unless the goal is to create an emotional response. The article does not show that the school teacher was mistreated in anyway. It claims that there was discrimination going on but with out the "why was he denied entry" we have no clue as to whether discrimination was an actual factor or not. So again, the "why" is very important. Was his name on the no-fly list? If so was it a clerical error? (something that happens quite often with that stupid list) If it was then no discrimination was involved. I could go on citing other examples but you don't care about the "why". You apparently only care about reacting the way that the article wants you to react.

The other side of the coin might be: how can one take "security" seriously when these things happen? As they grope granny and children in the airport terminal, how can one take this theater seriously?

As in quality control you will have to make examinations lots of times, when there is no problem found. But, if you don't, more problems hit the fan.

I never assumed anything. I commented on the religious xenophobia that exist and is fanned by the flames of ignorant right-wing Americans. He didn't have a problem getting on the plane or putting the trip together with school kids, so it only stands to reason that schmucks had some sort of Epiphany.

As to the IRA: nice duck. You know very well that it was Catholics against Protestants, so your fear of answering won't wash.

As for the ME, Stand Oil of New York; now known as Chevron, was over their buying oil rights and making roads before WWI, so none of what was going on over there affected US until we got involved politically as we scrounged for commercial gain and the war affected our relationship with the Ottomans. When a usurper becomes involved with the status quo and makes enemies and then hires private militias and buys security from crooked politicians , problems get inflamed. So, we're interlopers over there engaged in international competition of natural resources that we all wish to exploit. This is why American Indians aren't too fond of us either. In the late Middle Ages, England, France and Spain got the game kicked off.

You may wish to read up on these subjects, it's quite interesting.

So what's the point of bringing up Islam? We don't even know the teachers religion, assuming he even is a part of one which for all we know he's an atheist. Only reason to bring up Islam that I can think of is because the article mentions Trump and his EO. Which we have no clue as to whether that had an affect on the teacher or not. Being that according to the article he's never even been to any of those 7 countries listed on Trump's EO that seems very unlikely. So even bringing up Trumps EO was stupid of the author of the article. Just another attempt to smear Trump by innuendo.

So...why bring up Islam?

Security Theater, nothing more, founded upon the modern day Reichstag Fire, a spectacularly successful false flag operation.
