Deplorable & Proud

Trump insulted a hell of a lot more people than Clinton did.

Trump and his supporters ran with it because they are whiners and cowards. Everytime Trump screwed up, which was almost daily, they blamed everyone and everything besides Trump or his supporters.

Trump is faaaaaar from likable. He just did a better job of whining and blaming others for his mistakes than Clinton did .
I'll disagree with that I bolded.

It's true, Trump is intensely disliked. But even to this guy (me) that doesn't particularly like him, I've seen moments of personal charisma. He's also ad libbed and spontaneous, which can give off an aire of authenticity. Some hate him, but some also love him. He connects with many on a visceral level.

Now Clinton OTOH, gave off a constant aire of fake plasticity. If there was one word to describe her, it was "inauthentic'! She does not connect on a personal level (unlike Trump), and came off as corporate and lawyerly. She did not inspire. You voted for her as an unhappy chore needing to be done, rather than from an overwhelming desire to get out & vote for her as a person.

And that made the difference, IMO.

Well, I live in NY. He's never been 'liked' here or in NJ. I agree he's a good ad libber. But most of his ad libs are nothing but insults and and him raging against someone or something. Most of his showing in the debates proved he's not likable. IMO. He's easily rattled. He's easily baited.

Just curious, what percentage of the things you buy are specifically designed solely or primarily to annoy liberals?

LMAO

It was her defining moment with exposing herself to what she really is.

I didn't vote Trump either...............he's a effing buffoon.

Well, perhaps to you and I.

But I've had the opportunity to meet at least 4 or 5 Trump voters since the election, that deeply believe he relates to them on a personal level. And they speak with conviction.

You're a New Yorker, and I live in a nice 'burb outside a very large & cosmopolitan (apha rated) northern city. His rhetoric may not work for you, I, or maybe many of our neighbors (besides my immediate two deplorables!), but he does connected very deeply with some.

And they put him into the White House!

He had that kind of effect on his base that Hillary didn't. Which is why I think a lot of people didn't just show up to vote for Hillary.

I didn't vote Trump.

I laughed when Hillary made the quote.

I knew she just lost a few hundred thousand voters in 2-3 seconds..............she exposed herself for what she really is.

She won the popular vote by 1.5 million.

Trump needs a little blankie and a safe space.

Actually what he needs is not available as it is something he lacks as a human being and cannot be purchased - empathy for those different than himself.

Unfortunately, we don't count the popular.

But, compared to Obama's numbers, voter turnout for Hillary was down. That's because she was a very uninspiring and a too-polished-to-be-human candidate.

IMO she had 4 things going against her:

1) she's a Clinton. And the country is sick to death of Bush-Clinton....Clinton-Bush... Jeb was the odds on RNC favorite going into the primaries, he got destroyed, not only by Trump, but everyone. No Bush or Clinton will ever be POTUS again.

2) she's not a good speaker, she has a grating voice that doesn't inspire, anything. as you said 'uninspiring'.

3) the populist/nationalist movement would be a negative for any Dem nominee. there's lots of fearful, scared people out there. They are afraid for their jobs, their way of life, etc. They don't want change. The country has gone through that before. It will swing back.

4) the lies and propaganda from the conservative media was off the charts. She's dying, she's a traitor, she's going to be indicted, etc. All lies, but they stuck. That to will pass, eventually the constant lies will become like the boy who cried wolf with the public. But it didn't pass fast enough to help her out.

Let's take it to the next step and say it may have been enough to cost her the election. It was Clinton's version of Romney's 47% remark.

If you look at other parts of the world, especially South America, there is a socialist model of nationalism. In a nutshell, you nationalize multi-national corporations and even entire industries and say that it belongs to "our" people. You can even declare war on the "rich" and rail on about how the rich have exploited "our" people.

Exactly!

And the point I was making, is:

Trump is an acquired taste; and while many of us have yet to acquire it, that doesn't mean many others have not!

Well - that and the Comey announcement, with perhaps greater weight on Comey IMO.

But 'deplorables' sure fired-up the Trump base alright!

She won the popular vote by 1.5 million.

And she lost the majority of states and counties around the country. In many states she only won less than a handful of counties and in three states she lost every single county.

Mike Pence attended a broadway show. After it was over, one of the cast gave a respectful statement of disagreement with Pence's past but hope for his future. Your big tough patriot ran to twitter, threw another tantrum, demanding - among other things - that the theatre be a "safe space" (his words) for Pence and that the cast should apologize.

The ****ing next president of the United States of America, on twitter, having a melt-down.

You're proud of that thin-skinned coward? How can you be proud of such pathetic thin-skinned childishness?

How can such a small loser be left in charge of our military? Our nukes? He's an embarassment.

wow, still mad Hillary's coronation was called off? the real losers are the Hillary fan boys who cannot handle that she lost when everyone promised her that she was going to get the job handed to her without doing anything of significance to deserve it.

the real embarrassment are all those sore losers who cannot accept the fact that hillary sucked and she LOST

Not relevant. Why do the Hillary faithful keep spewing this nonsense that has absolutely no significance whatsoever?

The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you've got it made.

As I have already stated, I didn't vote for Trump.

But I loved it when the wench exposed herself as to what she really is.

then that makes my response even more apropos

You mean Trump acted just like the twits booing in the audience, and the diaper pin wearing ninnies in the show, and you find that Trump is the only embarrassment. Ok.

Excellent!

So, not knowing this guy but liking your quote - I Wiki'd him.

Yowsa!

"To win a woman in the first place one must please her, then undress her, and then somehow get her clothes back on her. Finally, so she will allow you to leave her, you've got to annoy her.

This guy's great - thanks!

The only one that anyone should care about their behavior. Can you imagine what the right would have been saying if Obama was tweeting things like, "bankruptcy king Trump is looking for my birth certificate, what a loser" every time trump brought that up?

To be honest, I don't care. If Obama did that I wouldn't care. I just find it interesting all the hypocrisy. On both sides. A lot of whiny bitchy little girls. I did vote for Trump. He was a my **** block on Clinton. He got the job done. Everything else he does in my favor is gravy. If absolutely nothing got done, I would be good.

Oh i get that. The point is that the whinyest, bitchiest, little girl in all this is the president elect. It's funny watching the usually tough guys defend a president acting more like my 14yr old daughter.
