Yeah, that was a huge moment when a Presidential candidate declared a wide swatch of American citizens 'deplorable'.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, thing to say!

And Trump very adroitly picked it up, adopted it, and ran with it.

And today, it's being worn on T-shirts and plastered across bumpers everywhere.

HRC was often her own worse enemy, and a pretty lousy candidate. You just can't coach 'likeable'. It's gotta' be there to begin with!

expect to be flipped off only if your driving is worse than your sticker

for our nation's sake, i hope that tRump's actions as president keep you proud enough to be willing to keep that sticker on your truck ... unlike the "W" bumper stickers, which were nowhere to be found in 2005

Trump insulted a hell of a lot more people than Clinton did.

Trump and his supporters ran with it because they are whiners and cowards. Everytime Trump screwed up, which was almost daily, they blamed everyone and everything besides Trump or his supporters.

Trump is faaaaaar from likable. He just did a better job of whining and blaming others for his mistakes than Clinton did.

I'll disagree with that I bolded.

It's true, Trump is intensely disliked. But even to this guy (me) that doesn't particularly like him, I've seen moments of personal charisma. He's also ad libbed and spontaneous, which can give off an aire of authenticity. Some hate him, but some also love him. He connects with many on a visceral level.

Now Clinton OTOH, gave off a constant aire of fake plasticity. If there was one word to describe her, it was "inauthentic'! She does not connect on a personal level (unlike Trump), and came off as corporate and lawyerly. She did not inspire. You voted for her as an unhappy chore needing to be done, rather than from an overwhelming desire to get out & vote for her as a person.

And that made the difference, IMO.

Well, I live in NY. He's never been 'liked' here or in NJ. I agree he's a good ad libber. But most of his ad libs are nothing but insults and and him raging against someone or something. Most of his showing in the debates proved he's not likable. IMO. He's easily rattled. He's easily baited.

Well, perhaps to you and I.

But I've had the opportunity to meet at least 4 or 5 Trump voters since the election, that deeply believe he relates to them on a personal level. And they speak with conviction.

You're a New Yorker, and I live in a nice 'burb outside a very large & cosmopolitan (apha rated) northern city. His rhetoric may not work for you, I, or maybe many of our neighbors (besides my immediate two deplorables!), but he does connected very deeply with some.

And they put him into the White House!
