Politically correct (PC)

Both sides of the aisle have their share of people who'd love to silence the opposition. Democrats do not have a monopoly on that.

And both sides are wrong.

False equivalency is popular but not accurate.
 
I agree, but it's not the case here.

Sorry, but it is. Conservatives almost never say, "It sounds like you are a....." They are more likely to say, "It sounds like you want to outlaw all guns." Duh! Or, "It sounds like you want abortion on demand with no restrictions." Or, "It sounds like you think any dollar we have for discretionary spending is a dollar that slipped through your fingers." Duh! Conservatives don't tend to say, "You sound like a @ist." That can be racist, sexist, ageist, misogynist, fascist, or any @ist you want to make up.
