What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Thick grilled Swiss Cheese and either hard genoa salami or Virginia ham, tomato slices, onion slices, and mustard sandwiches from homemade rye bread. Polish potato salad, made from boiled potatoes with chunks of Kielbasa and carrots, dressed in vinegar and 1/2 thin sliced lemons, a touch of olive oil. Lightly steamed green beans, with s&p. Iced peach tea. Fresh sliced fruit and berries for desert.

Yesterday I made a batch of meatballs and sauce. We had it again tonight. For tomorrow I pulled out two 1 inch strip steaks from the freezer. They are just too lean to grill so I have decided to use them in a pot of veggie beef soup. I checked the pantry, freezer, crisper and have everything I need to make a nice pot of soup. We will be eating it over the weekend. Come Monday it looks like another needed run to the market. I am out of any fresh berries, lettuce, nuts, half and half for my coffee. The list is long. I read today one restaurant will be opening up soon next week using clear shower curtains in between tables. :). I miss going to my favorite restaurants. Sigh

Yeah, it's kinda of funny...as far a proximity goes, I live in a unique area where quality dining is further than a walk will allow.

But I live in both the Giordano's and Lou Malnati's delivery zones. (Extra Bonus -- the Lou's being their #1 Original)

Haven't had pork chops in ages. Another thing the wife doesn't like, which you know....

made a veggie burger at home, and my wife baked fries for all of us.

Last night, medium rare-rare rump roast, just-undercooked sauteed broccoli

Tonight, continued (but probably, hopefully not, insufficient) support of our favorite Chinese place.

- Cumin Lamb
- Eggplant in Garlic Saue
- Braised Beef Tendon
- Mao Style Braised Pork (I'd prefer they change the name but... )
- Beef with Chinese Celery
- Mala Spicy Pot (fatty beef, beef tendon, beef tripe, beef stomach, pork belly)

Tomorrow:

Either I grill some ribeye steaks or the wife does an awesome crispy pan roast chicken (garlic, rosemary, lemon), with a side of awesomeness.

In spite of having sworn them off. That rascally bastard named convenience brought us together

Chic fil A

Coconut shrimp, natural vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Fettuccini with white beans, spinach, garlic, olive oil, grated parmesan reggiano. Fruit juices for the kids, grandma and I split a bottle of chianti. I had one glass, she murdered the rest. Homemade cherry lemon granite for dessert. I also killed a bottle of diet decaf Manhattan Brewery coffee soda (made in Brooklyn) and an oatmeal walnut cookie.

Tonight was a smaller Sunday gathering than normal. Tri Tip, Pork baby backs, greens, and mashed sweet potatoes.

Spinach fettuccine with vegetarian napoli sauce, whole wheat bread and Irish butter, black forest ice cream for dessert.

rice, salad and ham & chicken pizza with stuffed crust. Delicious!

This was the third and final day for the pot of veggie beef soup. It was very good but after 3 days of it, I doubt I will be making it again anytime soon. Didn't pickup any sweets on purpose while at the store and here I sit craving something sweet. A milkshake, sundae, salted caramel ice cream.....

Omg, they mentioned Haagen Daz in some show. I want some since.

I love Haagen Daz Coffee ice cream. It makes the best hot fudge sundae ever.....

Lox on bagels with thin slice of onion and Philadelphia cream cheese.

Pizza!

But wait... it was healthy pizza.
Cauliflower crust and plant based cheese and sausage.

I cheated a bit though. I grated some fresh mozzarella and sprinkled some oregano on top just in case this new science experiment failed to appease our fussy, we were born in Chicago, palates.
It did. The consensus is... next time, we'll buy the real thing.

We haven't tried that crust yet, but have used the cauliflower in side dishes. So, don't bother?
