What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Spanish lentil stew (but instead of the fatty pork sausages in the traditional recipe I used chicken garlic sausage instead- so its healthier, and I added a spice kick to it too) with stir-fried bean sprouts.

Patty Melt, kettle chips, lemon meringue pie

I'm steaming couscous with chopped crimini and oyster mushrooms, garlic and onions, julienned red sweet pepper, halved cherry tomatoes and chopped parsley on top. Also some huge cleaned and shelled prawns for the grill with fresh squeezed lemon wedges. Half a bottle of leftover pinot gris. Crenshaw melon, blackberries and unsweetened iced pekoe tea for dessert.

For dinner I picked up KFC on my way home from a day of errands. We just got a new one on this end of town. I have to say the chicken tenders were really tasty. Tomorrow its a birthday celebration at an Italian restaurant. I am having either eggplant parmesan or chicken marsala or depending on the soup of the day, soup and salad. I know all these dishes are excellent at this restaurant. Then Thursday we are getting Chinese takeout because we are in the middle of redoing our 1/2 bathroom plus we are spending a lot of time outside doing yard work. Friday sounds like pizza. Saturday will be City Barbecue. Sunday will be a homecooked meal of a roast with potatoes, parsnips, carrots, celery, onions, and mushrooms. The leftovers will be for Monday. Hopefully by Monday we will be done with projects on the inside and outside.

USDA prime ribeye steak with pan fried potatoes and Caesar salad (I used bread pan chips since I couldnt find the right croutons- worked out well), and Spanish almond turron for dessert.

Will be one of the biggest artichokes I've seen for each of us with dipping butter, and then grilled pork chops from the meat share thing.

Wish I could grow some artichoke plants here...

Pad Woon Sen
vegetable spring roll

saved enough for a great lunch tomorrow.

Hoo boy, another restaurant just opened up from across the mall near my place (and I have a feeling they'll go out of business in a few months, just like their predecessor) and what do they offer? Eat all you can pasta for $6. I ate a ton of chicken parmagiana and spaghetti, and now can barely... move.

ravioli
slice of Italian bread.

Taboulah stuffed cabbage rolls, duck sauce for dipping, as appetizers. The infamous Knockwurst (kosher specials) and baked beans, steak fries, lots of mustard & ketchup, lemonade & limeade, black cherry Italian ices for dessert. The tooting shall begin. It has begun, and the grandkids are winning, so far. My wife smartly left for a night at her sister's, before dinner. Wholly MOLY! Was that the dog? He didn't get any beans. Wasn't the dog, he's looking bewildered. My son was the culprit. A big stinker.

I think the dog is going to faint. From his point of view, the aromas of heaven.

A nice cool night, great for open windows. We are causing a global warming. :2wave:

Got a bunch of leftover veg we had on the grill yesterday. So may be some sort of Minestrone. Spicy, because most folks didn't go for the jalapenos.

avocado / veggie sandwich on a wheat bun with mayo
1/2 bowl of broccoli cheddar soup.

A box of Moroccan lentils and a whole sack of couscous was on sale for 75% off at the local deli near my place so I bought them all and made a great stew with chicken and veggies while topping it over the cooked couscous. Great improv dinner. I also bought discounted dark chocolate mints for dessert.

Man, you hit the jackpot.

grilled cheese w/ vegetarian turkey
baked Ruffles with light French onion dip

Man, you hit the jackpot.

LOL well this deli offers a lot of imported foodstuff from Europe and the like, and the locals here can not really afford buying them, so they end up coming close to the expiry date and are offered for a fraction of their price. There's usually a massive discount sale on many items every week, and I just swoop in and buy what I like at 50 -75% off. Now I have enough couscous to last for a month, and plenty of Lindt, Cadbury, Casino, and Nestle candies that I can ration out to my son hehe.

packaged stir fry with noodles and tofu
vegetable egg roll with orange sauce and soy sauce.

Herb chicken cordon bleu (came in a frozen pack so it was easy to pan fry) with Cesar salad and whole wheat dinner rolls with Swedish butter. More of the chocolate after dinner mints for dessert (I cleaned out the whole aisle at the deli since they were 75% off so I got a huge supply).

vegetarian sweet and sour pork bites
onions and green peppers pan fried in olive oil
butter and garlic rice

We had a pasta salad. No recipe, just something that came together. We had some carrots, farfalle, lemon juice, jalapenos, red bells, cilantro, a few navy beans, olive oil, salt and pepper. It was good.

veggie wrap with cheese and southwest chipotle on tomato basil tortilla
baked lays

home made veggie pizza
baked Ruffles with light dip.

I wish I had taken pictures... HAd a little over 1lbs filet of Chilean Sea Bass, and I ****ING NAILED it on the cooking.

Avocado oil in the pan, heated till jsut about to smoke (8 on my range) dried the fish, salt, pepper and then seared till there was a decent crust. Heated the oven to 375, and I put the filet in skin side down for about 25 min (or till internal broke 145/150) and served. I DID put a little pad of a garlic herb butter just before I popped it in the oven. THAT **** WAS AMAZING. I've done decent Sea Bass before but that, that I'd serve to Gordon Ramsay without fear. It was crusted, but so so so tender juicy on the inside. I didn't want the eating to stop, but alas, I can't eat much and so I took each bite with joy.
