What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

we made our own pizza with sauce from my tomatoes and a crust package that she had. it was decent. also had a salad.

Random ****.

I appear to be making a new grain I haven't had (Einkhorn), and will be separately making breakfast sausages and sauteed shrimp. It'll be a sort of.....stuff.....pile. The grain is being made with 1/2 my own chicken reduction broth and 1/2 purchased. There are various spices as I feel like things.

Reminder to self:
- Buy more galangal powder
- Buy more lemongrass powder

My wife is pregnant, so she chooses our dinner destinations. Tonight, it was Qdoba. We had nachos, which were awesome.

Congrats on the 'little one' Helix. Hope all goes well and the wife and baby are doing great. I just found out my 3rd great grand child is due May 26th....a little girl this time. ( the first two great grand kids were boys )...

thanks, man. i appreciate it. we're at 37 weeks, so i'm basically waiting on the phone call most of the time when i'm at work. could be any time now, so we're packing the bags.

Tonight we had Cod Vera Cruz. It's a traditional Mexican dish, I think. There are a couple of places in Puerto Vallarta that make it that are outstanding. It just knocks me out. It's a pretty simple recipe thing to make but it has a lot of flavor, imo.

It was a very cold day. Last night was a simple fare of chicken drumsticks, boiled and simmered with onions, garlic, celery, halved yellow potatoes (I love the creaminess of this potato when fully cooked), and carrots (simmered for about 30 minutes or so), then topped with napa cabbage.
The broth is just to die for.

Tonight, it will be chicken in tomato pan sauce,

served with sauteed cauliflower/bokchoy. The lads will also have pasta with it.

got a veggie burger and a side salad at this new place near us. veggie burger patty was a bit squishy, but the bread was really good.

you bought it
would appear that you were the one who then wanted it
why wait on her to use it. come up with a manly dish to prepare
chili might work well this time of year

tell your wife that she is welcome

It is really easy to use. And it work really well. But like Ron White says, this dick won't suck itself.

seven whole grain rice
vegetable egg roll
French cut green beans with seasoning
a few baked cheetos, as i was still hungry.

I had a fat ass Philly Cheese Steak sandwich from the awesome traditional style deli with pickle and onion rings... and Ice Tea.

Steaks with garlic butter, mushrooms and pan fried sweet onions.

Sometimes I feel like I am on the bleeding edge of the next great pizza controversy: I had a pepperoni, green pepper and onion pizza on a cracker crust. :lamo

Sooo.....last night:

A thing I do a lot. 2.5ish pounds of shrimp, 2 pounds of calamari, crapload of mixed pasta (1/2 whole wheat, 1/4 edamame "pasta", 1/4 black bean pasta - the latter two being almost entirely protein and fiber), spices, slow-simmered San Marzano tomatoes (smashed eventually into a sauce), garlic, alfredo sauce, additional cheeses I have and feel like throwing in.

That was good.

Tonight, I figured I'd have leftovers and so did the wife. The problem? The problem was that she picked one of the containers that had seafood. I forgot which was my elbow and which was my ass, then ended up picking the one container that had the extra pasta and the sauce, but no seafood. (I want a good seafood:pasta ratio in this dish). Shrimp was grilled on a.....a thing that is designed for grilling fish on a grill with bars widely spaced. Calamari sauteed on a high-heat cast iron pan.

Fail.

At the very least, I claimed another one of the containers with the seafood mixed in for tomorrow.

Wait... the last thing. Baked cheetos? What do you do with them? Just heat them up, or?
