What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Yesterday was Corned Beef, Pastrami, Hard Salami (Kosher), Swiss, lettuce, onion, and spicy mustard on an Onion Roll from Kaufman's Deli & Bakery out of Skokie

Tonight is roasted sage-rubbed potatoes and my world famous Mozzarella Omelet.

tortilla chips with shredded cheese, lettuce, taco sauce, and meatless beef strips. my wife makes her own taco seasoning, so we cooked that into the veggie beef strips. turned out to be a pretty good dinner.

Grilled Cheeseburgers, Spaetzle with bacon and drippings and Green Beans.

Palermo's thin crust cheese pizza
pretzel roll

this brand's tomato sauce was pretty decent.

How about lemon basil gelato? It is one of my favorites.

Sounds delicious but a bit rich right now. Did have applesauce on a small amount of steamed whitefish, followed by lemon ices and red tea. Had two poached eggs and coffee for breakfast. My 3-1/2 yr old twin grandsons get a kick out of watching me stuff an entire egg in my mouth in one bite. They've also discovered the piano. I've discovered noise isolation headphones. Been sipping ice water all day. Yesterday, intravenous vitamins. Tasty. :) Good thing this week, they shifted my chemo to NY Hospital in Flushing. Beats going into Manhattan. A quick drive back and forth with either my son or daughter behind the wheel. Tomorrow's the last treatment. My wife comes along, and when my son is driving, she screams or gasps at every intersection. I wear the headphones during the trip, pretending I'm listening to my old iPod. I've been forgetting to turn it on. She enjoys busting his chops. She sees it as a mother-in-law's obligation.

Roast asparagus
Mixed green salad with chopped vegetables
Caprese pasta

Sometimes just a little something will do. ChickfilA waffle fries and a chocolate shake.

Unfortunately Chick fil A is just far enough out of my way that I don't get there as often as I'd like.

(and of course there has to be a White Castle along the way and a Culver's around the corner.)

salad bar
spaghetti Alfredo
two slices of veggie pizza

1/3 grilled cheese sandwich
1/2 Caesar salad
baguette

Cream of Stinging Nettles soup with chicken and mushrooms. Nettles foraged from JBLM nee Fort Lewis.

Tomorrow it will magically to some become cream of nettles with chicken and mushrooms over really good biscuits.

This thread seems to be lacking energy.

Are we dying?

I hear that stinging nettles might have some amazing medical properties when consumed...does anyone know anything about that?

No idea about stinging nettles, other than they sting. Had cheerios for supper and it was good.

I'm boycotting White Castle since they introduced a veggie burger. :)

Yeah, that one was nasty...They did redeem themselves for a little while with their sack of shrimp though....those were so good on the cheap that they had to discontinue them, at least around here....

1/2 grilled cheese w/ tomato
cup of tomato bisque

perfect rainy evening dinner.

It's worth the investment, get yourself a factory refurbished Vitamix. Soup right in the blender, pesto right in the blender, sauces and gravies right in the blender. Crushed ice cocktails and slushes like no other blender can produce fro fresh frozen fruit. Incredible. You'll be glad to pass on your old blender, no matter how new it may be.

I do frosted shakes for the grandkids in less than a minute, put them in the freezer for ten minutes and they are better than the ice cream parlors.

Good luck, brother.

I never took a liking to boxed M&C, but make my own instead. Will give this one a try because I've gotten lazy.

Might not be as good as home made. However, as boxed mac and cheese goes, this one was really good.
