What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

We had the frozen leftovers of a pot pie my wife made a while back. I defrosted it, heated it, and then baked it at 375 for 20 minutes. It turned out pretty well, but it was hard to get the crust back to its original awesomeness after freezing. Still, she made one of the best pot pies.

We continue to use up the stack of gift cards we received from our 50th anniversary party. Tonight, it was takeout from Texas Roadhouse. I got a New York strip, baked potato, salad, rolls. He got a bone in ribeye, baked potato, and mushrooms. My steak was huge. The potatoes were huge. I ate half of the potato, 1/3 of the steak and was stuffed. Did not have room for any salad or rolls. Same with hubby. He ate half of his steak, half a baked potato and half his mushrooms. It was just too much food. So, it looks like the leftovers will be dinner tomorrow.

We have recently become "empty nesters".
As a result we are making an effort to eat everything we can that is in the deep freeze and then unplug it, clean it and maybe sell it.
In that quest tonight we had Chili, from what year is unknown.
Digging around at the bottom I'm kind of stumped....

...anyone got a good recipe for pterodactyl?

Should have done this long ago.....

Did I congratulate you on your awesome milestone? If not, belated happy anniversary and many more good years to come.

We were playing plumber today and settled for grapes and cheese.

Can of albacore tuna fish and a salad with lettuce, roasted pecans, walnuts, tomato, spinach, black and green olives, blueberries, blackberries, sprinkled w/4 blend shredded cheese - Cherry cobbler ala mode for later. -

Indian Butter Chicken. Damn near anything curried is always a good choice for us. I grind my own garam masala and other spices.

A handful of blueberries for desert. I'm not certain I could function without blueberries. Too much just ain't enough.

That really sounds good right now. Do you use malt vinegar? That's the way I like it.
I use white vinegar sometimes, but just ketchup last night. I'd like to make some tartar sauce sometime, been forever since I had that.

Chicken Gyoza last night (Trade Joes).

Wife is making turkey chili for tonight (raining here - rare event).

Atlantic salmon filet topped with Old Bay and oven broiled. Sliced, seasoned gold potatoes fried in olive oil. Dessert will probably be canned sliced rhubarb in strawberry sauce over Breyer's Natural Vanilla ice cream.
