What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

All-you-can-eat buffalo wings and pizza at the mall for $8. Looks like I'm gonna have to spend at least another hour on the treadmill for this... burp.

8 bucks!

I assume that wasn't Stateside?

One pan Trattoria tortellini bake. My wife made it without the extra butter, as it didn't need it. Turned out awesome.

Nope! There's lots of these kinds of places in Asia. Before the pandemic, a couple of the pubs here were even advertising all you can drink house wine for $6.

The owners know that Asians dont eat a lot, so they use these specials to boost their revenues. To a Westerner like me, these places are a godsend: good, cheap food and you can eat to your heart's content. There's no way they could sustain this kind of business if it was in the US lol.

'Caution to the wind night'-----Chipotle's---double brown rice, double black beans---peppers----double barbacoa---extra cheese---lettuce---Mexican corn----3 cuplets of hot sauce---chips----lemon slices and guac on side. Thing must have weighed 2 lbs., and employee had to use a second tortilla because the cup runneth over. I'm a big boy with a big appetite, and that bad boy will feed me for two days. Crestor working overtime. 🐷

It's amazing how American-style food has propagated around the globe!

My indigestion kicked in just reading this.....Good for you if you can do this!

I made pizza for dinner tonight. I changed my method. Now I am keeping the pizza on the steel pan for a few minutes longer until I add the layer of provolone cheese. The crust had been getting too done and it was so crisp that it was like eating a very hard cracker or shards of glass. Now I am still getting the crisp outer exterior but the center is now not overdone and hard, so it remains chewy. I broiled it for a minute or so to get the attractive brown spots on the cheese. I ate a large garden salad to fill up on before I cut the pizza.

Tonight I made something that I have wanted to make for a long time. I made Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes from scratch. I just bought some Brussels sprouts so that was the vegetable, simple roastred with S&P, olive oil. I had a great appt with my psychologist, so I was in a good mood. It was far from low calorie, so tomorrow will likely be a vegetarian day with a salad/ soup.

I made a veggie beef soup today. Someone had gifted me a pouch of Pampered Chef’s Beer Bread - so I made that to go with it as well as some farfalle pasta. (Pasta mostly for my son that isn’t a big soup fan…he ate some of the beef/veggies out of the soup and a bowl of pasta and two HUGE slices of bread with butter…I’m guessing another growth spurt is coming!)

My daughter gave me a pouch of that when she was in college because her roommate sold Pampered Chef.

I made potato soup to go with it.

Yeah, I never had it before. I want to say it was given in a Christmas gift? I wish I remember who gave it to me - it was good! And super simple…pouch and a bottle of beer and then bake.
