What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

This is the first time I have ever heard of Swiss Chalet sauce so I did a search and found a copy cat recipe for it. With all the ingredients listed in the recipe, it certainly isn't lacking any flavor.
That is one heck of a recipe! We can buy packets of the dry ingredients here in the grocery stores so that's what I use. When we go to Florida for the winter ( hope that day comes again!) I take several packets so we can get our fix while down there. It is really a dipping sauce more so than a BBQ sauce.

lean cuisine pizza
couple chips.

feels good to be eating again. long story short, we all caught daycare Norovirus this past week. it was not fun.

Cut boneless chicken breasts into strips. Set up a dredging station; very well seasoned flour, egg wash, and finely crushed cornflakes with more herbs and spices. Placed them on a foil covered cookie sheet and baked for about a half hour or so. They were tasty. Served with cheesy potatoes and green beans. I wanted something sweet later on and came up with a pretty tasty sundae. Crumbled up a couple of Oreo cookies into a bowl. On top the cookies, two scoops of double vanilla ice cream. Made a caramel sauce in the microwave with brown sugar, butter and condensed milk. Drizzled the caramel sauce over the ice cream and topped with Reddi-Wip. It totally rock from the first bite to the last.

I did boneless chicken breast too, but I tried a new chicken and dumplings casserole, with the vegetables on the side.

Wish I had your dessert, I had 3 day old birthday cupcake covered in melted fondant.

Red lentil coconut curry with peppers and avocado slices. It was amazing.

I use an app called Mealtime for recipes. You set preferences (vegetarian, low carb etc) and number of servings and choose from suggested recipes. Once you've chosen the number of meals you want to make it generates a grocery shopping list which you can edit by Xing out what you've already got on hand.

I've never had a bad meal yet from the app.

i found this funny as i am from NY so we never distinguish

enjoy!

I ate lamb shank tonight
I'm like you, but now in Colorado, so we distinguish. Recently had a Lou Malnati's deep dish Chicago pizza delivered to give it a try, not impressed. That should have been the best example from what I hear, but I'll stick with NY style pizza. Hope you enjoyed your lamb, we often buy lamb sirloins and grill them over charcoal.....the healthier red meat. ;)

I love lamb shanks, leg of lamb roasts, lamb steaks, lamb stew etc. but to do it in a conventional oven it takes hours to slow cook. How did you prepare your lamb shanks?

That looks really good. Do you have a recipe?

would be goat

;)
I've never had goat but I've had mutton on a few occasions in various curries. Most lamb that you h but has been bred to be so mild that it has very little flavor. I bought 2 pounds of organic grass-fed lamb and it was virtually pork in a fur coat. I was disappointed.

I had alligator once at a cajun restaurant and have eaten bison, elk, and deer many times.

I like trying new recipes. It gets old fixing the same old same old. My daughter got me one of those Insta pots a year ago and I just took it out of the box two days ago. It has several functions on it and looks promising. All those recipes that take hours on the stove, in the oven or a crockpot can be done in 90 minutes or less. My first time using it will be to make kale and Italian turkey sausage soup. (A new recipe). Another new recipe will be this weekend but not in the Instapot. I found a recipe for Blueberry muffin bread. Then you slice it and turn it into French toast.

It's this one:

I did it minus the onion and celery.

Has anybody in this thread ever said, "Here's this hot pocket I had for dinner"?

I think I've done frozen burritos.
I've done that before. You won't starve but it's not something to look forward to.

I look forward to them lol, I just don't usually post pictures here. I think I did once though. I buy spicy beef burritos, and put hot salsa, cheddar, and sometimes sour cream on them. Quick and tasty. Pre melting picture.
