But I always like their Elbling.

About wines from Georgia: :)

Not to be confused with Georgia (U.S. state) wine

Georgia is one of the oldest wine regions in the world.
......

Due to the many millennia of wine in Georgian history and its prominent economic role, the traditions of wine are considered entwined with and inseparable from the national identity.

Among the best-known Georgian wine regions are Kakheti (further divided into the micro-regions of Telavi and Kvareli), Kartli, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Adjara and Abkhazia.

This past year I've been enjoying some very fine wines from New Jersey. Anyone who doesn't New Jersey isn't a foreign country is not from NYC.

I liike my muscodine wine, but for others simply put american wine from texas california or washington are the best in the world. My great aunt had a rack of wines from over the years, some a few years old, some of them 40+ years old, none of them ever impressed me coming from europe, the french wines in my opinion being the most over rated.

Friends of Portugal can now click onto Portugal here. ;)

I agree!
French wines are fine, no doubt about that.
But they are not that astronomically better than all the others, as some snobs like to think.

I liike my muscodine wine,

I have read up on it:

Muscadine, not to be confused with Muscat or Moscato, is a grape variety native to America that has been used for making dry wine and port-style wine since the 16th century. The grape’s winemaking history started near St. Augustine, Florida, but presently finds its roots all over the southeastern states of America. Muscadine tends to fall on the sweeter side because winemakers will often add sugar while producing the wine.

That may be.
But this happens to be a poll about wines from Europe.
I am sure there is also a poll somewhere where you can click onto US-wines.

I drink wine only from the European Union. Before a meal I often have sherry from Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) and with chicken or fish I enjoy a Liebfraumilch from Germany. With beef I sometimes have red wine from Spain. With a snack of jamón Ibérico I enjoy copious glasses of Lambrusco (semisecco) from Italy.

French wines are often over rated, I found italian wines often better, and even german british and wines made by monestaries to be better quality.

I view them the same way as cuban cigars, everyone cals them the greatest, however when I had real cuban cigars I was not impressed, to me dominican cigars were better, and the idea of cuba being best was based off pre embargo when other nations were not big on cigar making, now they do not fair well for the hype. For french wines I feel it is the same, there was a point in time they were known as the best, but other nations have made better wine since and the hype is high over over wines.

Muscodine was made by european winemakers when european grapes did not grow well in the eastern us during colonial periods. They found the grape to work very well for wine the taste however is much different than traditional european wines as the grape grew in the us native, and many european grapes were unsuitable for cultivation until moving west and finding more arid environments suitable for grape production, which is mostly california washington and texas, known for having proper environments for grape production for wine.

to put it simply when we look at modern wines in america, they are mostly american grown versions of european grapes, while muscodine mustang and frost are all native grapes to america and native wines exclusive to america.

Cyprus got 2 votes from 4 voters. :)
