If you grew up in the 1950s, a TV ad for this candy bar featured a rendering of a camel saying 'I Want A Clark Bar.' I loved these but lost interest & gave away the few I had left last Halloween. Today I started to track down the fate of this treat.

The Clark Bar went through a number of corporate transitions & is not currently available. But today I got in contact with the current owner of the name, formula & equipment for making them: Boyer Candy in Pittsburgh & Altoona, PA. I spoke with a representative & was told that they plan to launch this candy within a month.

Their retail outlet phone: Boyer Candy Company

i never much liked them, but now I want one!

I love 'Baby Ruth' but I have this childhood craving for Clark Bars. Right now their only manufacturing hangup is in the packaging.

See Boyer Candy

Peppermint Patties, Juicy Fruits and Red Hots.

Caddyshack ruined CLARK bars for me.........

Butterfingers are similar to a Clark Bar. As I remember, I think they are tastier than a Clark Bar.

My favorite candy bar though is a Milky way!

Not that unusual. A lot of even current brands get made by different companies in different places under licenses. Kit Kat is one of them.

At one point they were made by the New England Confectionery Company (NECCO), whose plant in the 1970s was right next door to :polaroid's research building in Cambridge, MA, where I interviewed for a job. I believe NECCO went bankrupt after moving elsewhere in MA.

NECCO Wafers didnt taste that great but were great BB gun targets.

My favorite are the chocolate but the formulation has apparently changed & they hardly taste like chocolate any more.

My preference is Snickers or a Kitkat. But what I would really like are a box of See's since its hard to get them where I am.
