Comfort food

Don't you call it hot love or something like that?

Yes, you can call it that way! :)

Heiße Liebe = Vanilleeis mit heißen Himbeeren >>>> Hot Love = vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries :)

Something else I vaguely remember is some sugar burning over a pot of wine? Not sure about that

Possible, I only vaguely remember it. Now, when you pronounce that, does your tongue turn into a knot?

I will try to help. :)

Feuerzangenbowle = Feuer-Zangen-Bowle

Can you say: "foy - rr - tsung - nn - bohl - eh" :)

Feuerzangenbowle (German: [ˈfɔʏɐtsaŋənˌboːlə]) (About this soundlisten (help·info)) is a traditional German alcoholic drink for which a rum-soaked sugarloaf is set on fire and drips into mulled wine. It is often part of a Christmas or New Year's Eve tradition. The name translates literally as fire-tongs punch.

The popularity of the drink was boosted in Germany by the 1944 film comedy Die Feuerzangenbowle. It is a traditional drink of some German fraternities, who also call it Krambambuli, as the red colour is reminiscent of a cherry liqueur of that name which was manufactured by the distillery Der Lachs zu Danzig [de] (in Gdańsk).

It was cool in the house the other night, and I was thinking of something warm and sweet I could make in a hurry.
I remembered a microwave bread pudding recipe, but could not remember the details, so just winged it.
In a large microwave safe soup bowl, I cut up two slices of bread into roughly 1 inch squares.
I added a handful of raisins. in a separate cup, I mixed 1 egg, 1/3 cup of milk, 3T sugar, and vanilla extract.
I pored the egg mixture over the bread, let set for a few seconds, and microwaved for 2 minuets.
It kind of taste like my Moms los bread recipe (the french name for French toast).

I like raisins in my food! :)

Stew with butter bread.

i will second that...

another comfort food we like during the winter is homemade pot pie....

comes out of oven with a flaky crust, and then the steam pours out as you break open the crust....

Try dried cranberries instead of raisins.

New Orleans style bread pudding with rum sauce.:applaud:usflag2:

Bread pudding with fresh spices and made by someone who doesn't skimp on the technique is the food of the gods.
