I am curious to know how far this gluttony can go.

Probably something to consider for the future is if we will be able to continue overeating indefinitely.

No they’re not. Marketing experts from a UK supermarket and a UK tabloid are working together to generate both free advertising for future product lines in the supermarket and cheap, eye-catching copy for the tabloid.

Jersey did this years ago when they started "fatting" sammiches with french fries.

There's a new place in my community that offers only fried stuff--Oreos, Twinkies, and etc. I wonder how well it's doing.
 
They had fried chicken skin skewers in one of the pics. Many years ago I suggested to a client (chicken wing joint) that he put something similar on his menu to set him apart from the crowd. I was informed that it couldn't be done.

The last paragraph of your post provided a very thought-provoking comment for me to consider - so I'm going to ask you if you believe our ability to continue overeating indefinitely will be because we can - which will affect overall health because of increasing obesity, OR will living conditions, including wars that contaminate the soil for years in other parts of the world prevent them from growing the food that they need to avoid mass starvation be the problem, and what if anything can we do about it?

I don't know. But, I do know this is the first time in history that access to too much food is an actual problem. And, what? That has been, at most, a problem for maybe 30 years.

I doubt it can last. For whatever reason.
