After a hangover, I like to drink soda, particularly coke or Dr. Pepper. I don't drink soda often.

Some soda with fries and a burger really goes well.

Well, the best hangover drink...is water.

You might not be facing a hangover if you'd paid more attention to your best friend, water, the night before and alternated a glass of H20 in between every alcoholic beverage.
Drink Lots of Water - Top 10 Hangover Cures - TIME

Water is the first thing you should be drinking this morning. The alcohol you drank last night dehydrated your body and the best way to feel better is to rehydrate it.

That second source also suggests fruit juice and/or vegetable juice.

Water and Tylenol seem to be a winner - water for the dehydration and Tylenol for the headache.

But what about after you throw up? Aren't you hungry?

Fried eggs or a cheese omelet with orange juice and lots of cold water. Works for me.

I have not gotten hangovers in maybe 20 years in part because I avoid bad tequila and make sure to drink water.....I used to say it was because I only drank top shelf hooch but now that I am drinking Military Special because of the bankruptcy and all I had to stop with that.

Anyway....back when I did occasionally....Ginger Ale on Ice and a fried egg sandwich on toast with 2 eggs 4 strips of salty bacon and even add some more salt to it as it fries 2 slices America cheese.

The 2-4-2 Sandwich....easy enough to remember when the brain is mostly out of commission.

There was a pizza joint on Hay Street in Fayetteville, NC in the early 1970’s. Left side of Hay and on the Ft Bragg side of the tracks. Best greasy pizza before heading back to post after enjoying the beer and the ladies. Later, non-military option was an all night diner serving breakfast 24/7. Gotta grease up the internals for the inevitable........

A virgin mary and a greasy breakfast sandwich. Works every time.

Nachos with heavy cheese, and salsa. With a vitamin water on the side "only because I like the flavors that the water comes in"

But I did get really drunk once, and polished off two whole jars of jalapeño stuffed green olives... still didn't throw up.

Then again, I am a former sailor, and I have only managed "not for lack of trying" to pass out drunk, twice in my life. The second time was in Rio, the first time was playing "The bears have come" with a few family & friends.. which my mother won that one.

I recommend salty crackers and jerky, to soak up the alcohol still in your stomach. Can't go wrong with that. Drinking water or juice would prevent the dry foods from doing their job, so you'll want to avoid introducing more fluids to your system.

Tacos from jack in the box were always a good one when I was in college. Havent been hungover much since

I wouldnt recommend this. Drinking alcohol already dehydrates you. Your body needs hydration, so drinking water helps.

Don't listen to PoS, guys. The Pepe meme made out of troll faces is clearly a reliable source of information on recovering from hangovers.

Did I mention that vigorous cardio excercise is also good for hangovers when combined with crackers and dehydrated meat?

You forgot the whole bottle of Tabasco. Amateur. :p

As much water as possible, starting the minute you realize you've had too much. A friend told me that Sprite works, and I think I even saw that one mentioned in an article somewhere.

Sorry, no specific foods I know of.

Best time to drink the water is before you go to bed. After a night of debauchery I will drink at least one bottle of water, two if I can before crashing, and take a couple ibuprofens. That seems to save me the majority of the time.

When I was in college I used to put a plastic bottle of water (about 20 oz) in the freezer. If I drank, that went beside the bed. Every time I woke up during the night to pee (beer, man...) I would drink the water that melted off. That made me pee more, of course, but the process seemed to help.

Youre so memesy.

Right. Spicy foods will help make you sweat more, therefore flushing more ethanol out of your system. I can't believe I forgot!

Well, seeing as your liver metabolizes roughly 98% of any alcohol you consume, I wonder how effective that might be....
