Are the Frozen Fatburger patties and white castle burgers a good substitute for the real things?

thanks! You know, I'd seen them before but didn't realize they'd be good frozen, but after hearing the good reviews on the frozen ones, I'll have to try them.

We have White Castles in the area I live, but I have on rare occasion bought frozen for my son; the best way I have found to prepare then is either the toaster oven, or wrap them in a wet paper towel and microwave.....the paper towel prevents them from becoming hard as hockey pucks.

I have No earthly idea what a Fat burger is......is it a regional thing?

Probably. I've never seen one anywhere I've been, and I've been all over. Guess I haven't been in the right place?

Oh, and thanks for the tip!

Most welcome! :) I made the mistake of microwaving them the first time without a wet paper towel...I hurt myself chewing it.

Fatburgers:

Fatburger has locations in five western states in the United States and Canada, and new locations in China, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Fiji, Indonesia, Iraq, India, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Tunisia, Macau, Pakistan, Oman, Panama, Singapore, Philippines, Mexico and Qatar.[/QUOTE]

How could I have not run across one of these before?

 They are supposed to be pretty good. The locals probably keep them hidden so the lines aren't as long?

Bingo!

Keep the pickle off. Then smoother in hotsauce!

But to keep with the cheap junk fast-food theme, I highly recommend taco Bell's "Diablo" sauce. The relatively new stuff in the dark brown packet. Yep. Besides my inadvertantly telling you I eat way too much spicy late night drive thru food, I can assure you this sauce is pretty damn good, and absolutely kicks ass on a slider!

So next time you're running through the Taco Hell window late one night, grab a few extra diablo packets!

You can thank me later.

Ohh....I see a marketing opportunity....."Fusion fast food".......

Toxic Hell Diablo sauce and Sliders? Hmmmm........this could lead to premature O-ring burn out.....and a painful reign on the porcelain throne.

I'm tellin' ya'!

It's a delicious combination that seems made for itself. I got a plastic baggy of Diablo packs on my counter, specifically for sliders! Seriously.

Silence, heathen!

Don't blaspheme American fast food! All bow before it's juicy, meaty, greatness..may your cholesterol chalice runneth over, and you lie in fields of preservatives and MSG's.....let its goodness coat your arteries.

Amen.

*sigh*.....been there, done that....spent time at Incirlik, and I have to eat at the Turk dining facility in Kabul.

I do like the olive, almonds, peppers, and vinegar salad though...

White Castles are fried in their oil and onions. The frozen version are not. I tried the frozen one and they are not close to the ones on the grille. Fact: White Castle burgers are never flipped to cook on the opposite side. They are thrown on the grille frozen and have five holes in them to allow the heat to pass through so there is no need to flip. The buns are stacked on top of the burgers as they cook. I grew up three blocks from a Porcelain Palace as we called them and I am an expert on White Castles or "sliders" as we called them. The local paper used to have a coupon offering five for 25 cents!! This was a long time ago. I stopped by one about 20 years ago to eat a few and the magic was gone proving out tastes change as we age.
