I signed up, I read reviews, watched web reviewers, debated it and thought "Here's a way I can work on smaller meals since my son is off to college on Friday. He eats a lot, like most 6'5" teen males. So this was more to force smaller meals.

I'll try to photobomb the stuff and give my review later, wondering if anyone here tried them.

My sister loves it. The few I have had with them where hit or miss, but the Greek thing last week was ****ing awesome.

We did the introductory offer of it and it is good. Not cost efficient but good.

I have thought about. If you have the money to splurge then it seems like a useful service.

We tried the introductory offer also...I wasn't impressed price-wise so I cancelled any future orders...

My wife cooks and creates most of it from scratch. So, I'm good. But, if I was single, I'd probably find me a loft above a restaurant.

Me and my old roommate used to do it, but the portions weren't big enough for 2 guys in their 20's so we stopped.

Then I started doing it again recently (but Hello Fresh), but cooking for one sucks, especially when it takes a few pans and there's all this cleaning up to do after. I'd rather stick to simple meals.

It did teach me some nice techniques and recipes though. I think I prefer the Blue Apron recipes to the Hello Fresh ones.

I do 95% of the cooking.

I used to cook a lot. But, I got spoiled over the past few years. Besides, my idea of cooking was basically heating up some pasta and a jar of marinara sauce, maybe frying up some meat and onions beforehand. Wife makes her sauce from fresh tomatoes. She's still buying boxes of pasta though :)

I get some good Roma Tomatoes, a nice olive oil, garlic and fresh basil as my base.

Lately we've been doing cold pasta. Add in cut up fresh tomatoes, onions, chunks of cucumber, feta and lots of garlic. We stay home after we eat that.

It was/is a GREAT summer for our gardens this year. Warm, but not hot, with a decent amount of rain. So we got Tomatoes coming out of our ears. Which I LOVE, so lately we've been having a lot of Caprese salad---fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, a little olive oil. There's a 1,000 other things you can add to it, capers, onions, fruit.. Whatever, great stuff.

As for the Blue Apron I get spam from them almost daily, but I haven't turn their spam off yet because I am thinking about giving them a try. IDK yet.

I'll dig up the pics and get them up later. First thing, this is the wrong company... BA puts everything all jumbled in the box. So you gotta sort through everything. BLEAH. Pain in the wazoo. However, we had the salmon over rice with spicey lemongrass veggies and it was quite good. Took 10 min just to sort through the stuff and get what that meal needed... but otherwise was about a 35 min start to eat cooking evolution.

Months ago I signed up for 'Home chef', I haven't ordered anything yet though. Obviously they sold my email because immediately after I signed up I started getting spam from BA, Hello Fresh, and others.

In the summer we usually do the grill, have lots of salads, etc. When the weather starts to cool that's when me and the wife start to do some serious cooking. Maybe in September I'll pull the trigger and try 1 of these home meal services.

Post those pictures when you can. They will be helpful, Thx..

Certainly! I want to try Hello Fresh because they put everything in a box (each meal) so it's easier to deal with. Plus BA skimps on food. They sent a burger recipie, and like 1/2 a pound of meat for two burgers.

Forgot pics, but we got the Hello Fresh in. Each meal is bagged seperatly with everything but the meat in there for you. Meat stored obviously separately. First meal was crusted tilapia. Not bad, not WOW AMAZING OMG but then I'm not a fan of tilapia. Second meal was a "premium" meal, NY Strip with an arugula salad. Very good. We ended up slow munching the toasted ciabatta pieces by dipping them in the steak sauce you make. Tomorrow will be maple glazed pork chop action.

You did an excellent job on your plating. It looks nearly as good as the picture. We've done the introductory offer with several of the services. I do them with kids and they love to cook. I find that I cook more in my Instant Pot than in anything else. I love the Instant Pot and the Crockpot.

Brother in law tried it, didn't like it.

Come September I'm probably going to give Hello Fresh a try. I am a fan of tilapia. The NY Strip sounds good too.

THx. I like trying different foods and recipes. HF sounds like a good start.

So far, so are we. I'm a pretty good cook, but this is shaking up the "routine" and forcing me to use ingredients I might not have, and techniques I haven't really practiced.

I do 95% of the cooking.

So do I and I enjoy it. I don't need overpriced ingredients. I can buy what I need at the market.
