Conversion to veganism

Where do you get your b12 shots btw? just curious I would like to get some myself.
that's definitely the way to go b12 supplements don't do the job very well at all.

from my doctor!

Then I highly suggest consulting a doctor before going vegan, if you do. There is a portion of the population who medically can't pull off veganism. The fact you already have a deficiency is a red flag to me. But I am no doctor.

As a woman I have iron deficiency ,not thalassemic one

And to eat yogurt would be unethical because its not vegan and you were not vegan up until now so you weren't ethical all your life until now. ?

Today we consider it bad parenting, and illegal, to let your kids ride in the car without a seatbelt.

However, back in the day most parents let their kids ride without seatbelt or car seats. Hell, lots of time the kids would just ride in the bed of a pickup truck.

Medusa was "unethical" in her diet choices in the past in the same way parents from decades ago were "bad parents".

I was just teasing her pretty much. Its all a personal choice and I respect that.

Around here these flatbed ranch service trucks always have a big dog riding on the toolbox right behind the back window going down the road at 60 mph. That should be illegal and they should more concern for the dog. Definitely unethical.

plant based one of course

I was just talking to my boss about a guy who formerly worked here. He was obsessed with hot peppers. he made a jelly out of ghost peppers. talk about something you don't want to eat for breakfast.

Well odds are youre going to quit and go back to eating meat once you get sick (because human beings are omnivores, not herbivores), but good luck anyway.

Good luck with the transition...just please, please, please, don't become one of those evangelical vegans, the world already has enough of those... ;) You don't seem like the type, though...hehe... If only the majority of vegans could be as chill about what they eat the day *after* they become vegans as they were the day *before*... haha

My vegetarian tendencies finanlly took the form of 'vegan'!!All I wonder is how I will live without 'yoğurt'!!tofu cheese is fantastic ,soy milk is fine but what about yoğurt ?

Tell me it isn't so. No yogurt? Good luck with that.

That would certainly be more ethical. But it can still be problematic for some.

I am vegan but the fact is, depending on how into the weeds you go, there is no such thing as a perfectly ethical diet. Maybe scavenging? It is all about finding a balance you are comfortable with. If everyone were just a bit more conscientious about how they source their food, the world would be a better place.

That last sentence is true, but I think also somewhat difficult to actually implement. I am not a vegan, but I don't have an issue with vegans like many on this thread apparently do (and for very unreflective reasons, I might add).

From my perspective, I consume meat and dairy, but I have made an effort in the past few years to eat less meat and to have more of a plant-based diet. My concerns here are primarily the environment, but also the treatment of animals and health reasons. In this sense, I agree with vegans that these practices are ethically questionable. In the long run, however, I am simply very skeptical that the global population will become vegan (nor, if I'm honest, do I actually want to give up eating meat and definitely not dairy full stop). I do, however, think that with education, we can get people to eat less meat, have less of an environmental impact, and put pressure on companies to be more ethical. That can (and already is) having an impact, but there's still a long way to go. So for me, personally, I consider it more effective to lobby for regulations on the meat/dairy/egg industry and to lobby for funding renewable energies/carbon taxes/environmental regulations. But I certainly respect that some people want to completely disassociate themselves from these industries.

Thanks,I have always had empathy and sympathy for the animals and had difficulty in understanding why we needed to eat them while there were lots of veggies grown in every kind of land ..I have never been fond of beef ,chicken (Fishes exceptional )sausage etc.

Didn't vegetables kill Madame Currie?

I had heard about coconut yoğğurt but cant imagine it ,will try

Coconut milk yogurt is delicious. I like it better than traditional yogurt. Be diligent in reading labels, some are loaded with sugar.

If you go all vegan and yogurt, make sure your family is stocked up on gas masks. You will be flatulating like a refinery. :fart
