I mix one part sesame seed dressing with one part sweet Asian vinegar and a little olive oil. Slightly sweet, a family favorite for years. Salt & pepper to taste.

brianna's poppy seed

I just use extra virgin olive oil and balsamic reduction as my most basic salad dressing.

Lovebug's special blend, depending on my mood. No store bought dressing unless in a pinch.

how do you reduce it?

Don't want to speak for the member, but I just simmer it until I have the right consistency...about 1/3 the volume may be. If it gets too thick, it is hard to work with.
Btw, that is great with fresh fruit.

Yeah, I do balsamic and oil as the staple. Although I don't like extra virgin with that, it overpowers it IMO. Light or a vegetable blend.
You can add a little mayo and dijon for a creamier version. If you hate the "brown/muddy" look of balslamic, they do make a lot of white balsamic that work well too...usually not quite as good but an option.

For store bought I like Ken's Steakhouse Creamy Parmesan Lite. I use that in place of any ceaser or for a wedge salad (still put blue cheese crumbles but use that dressing).

Interested to see what shows up in the thread.

I do not have one favorite. I like, in no particular order, blue cheese, thousand island, Russian, cucumber, Italian, oil and vinegar is ok on some salads. To stay on topic, I have started making a Poke salad using sushi grade tuna and salmon and the dressing is sesame oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds and maybe a little oyster sauce.

Edit: I forgot Caesar with anchovies!

If the olive oil is not in a dark bottle you are screwing up.

Usually balsamic and oil, poured separately.

Every now and then I like a good blue cheese dressing, especially if I've put grilled chicken on the thing.
