i enjoy it occasionally.

When it is made right, which the commercial product rarely is.

No, its disgusting.

It's great in a leftover turkey/cornbread casserole a couple of days after Thanksgiving, though.

my favorite food inside the chain gang camp

Maybe I shouldn't have said no so quickly. This sounds kind of good....but creamed corn on it's own is still probably a no.

It is for me too. My kids always just loved it. Ugh. But file this idea away for next Thanksgiving. Rather than adding water or gravy, add the cream-style corn. The yuck cooks away, leaving only the actual corn.

Sheesh if youre going to go through all that trouble why not just use standard canned or frozen corn?

Creamed corn?

Yes, or no?

I don’t use cream in my cream corn, and I never use frozen or canned corn. I prefer to milk the cob, meaning after you cut the cornels off the ear, scape the cob with the dull side of your knife over a bowl and you will get liquid corn gold.

For 6 to 8 ears of corn use a half stick of butter or go with bacon grease about three tablespoons, salt and pepper about 2 tablespoons sugar, at the end maybe just a little butter to finish. I cook this in a skillet for about 20 minutes or so.

This is about leftovers and making a casserole. Your leftover dressing will dry up if you don't add at least some liquid.

I like corn a lot, on or off the cob, but not creamed. BTW, when my kids were little, they called it "corn on the spoon" since the other was "corn on the cob."

Reminds me of the kid that asked why are baby cats named cattens? Which by the way is a good question.
