Better than olive oil this algae oil is higher in monounsaturated fats. It has a high smoke point and a neutral flavor. It is just now making its way in to stores so you may have to search for it on line.

I'll have to check it out. I cook with oil a lot, so I might give it a whirl if it's not too expensive.

I like organic coconut oil myself.

I love coconut oil, but it does leave a coconut flavor so I don't like it for some things.

And what will algae oil taste like? Harvesting price?

How is the taste?

I love olive oil in most things.

Yep.

Great to cook with.

I only have the higher quality olive oil and coconut oil a home, but then, buy the higher quality foods anyway instead of shopping for bargains.

I doubt it's health benefits justify that price.

I suspect you are right.. and if it gets of the ground, it will because it's 'trendy'. If the price was equivalent to other oils , or near, then it would be interesting to try.

If it takes hold, consumption increases, more enter the production market, prices will drop. Have to wait and see.
Lots of trendy stuff out there.
