OK, I goofed up. Once back when i was working on yachts, one of the owner's wife's made he and I a really nice snack using a recipe off a box of Triscuits using fresh soft motzerella olive oil, and some other things that was completely fantastic.

I looked on the internet and found someting i thought was the same recipe but it was not it at all. It was bad.

So now i have two packages of fresh motz and have no idea what to do with them.

Is there a way to turn then into regular motz cheese?

Might someone have the old recipe somewhere?

or is it rat food now?

any help wil be greatly appreciated.

its mozzarella and you can do a ton of things with that.
sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, snacks etc..
One of my favs is some pizza bread mozzarella, marinara and whatever on some bruschetta

what else was in the snack you are talking about?

get a nice deli flatbread / sauce / veggies and make a pizza out of it.

the soft motz handles differently than the harder cheese.
Might you know how i can make it harder to use.
right now it is like jello.

You can dry it out by placing it on a cloth or towel. If it sweats water then it must be really fresh. The Italians like to dry it up a little before putting it on pizza.

so all it needs is to just be dried out by wrapping it in a cloth?
That seems pretty simple. I hope I can do that right at least.
I have also scoured Triscuit boxes and have not found that old recipe yet.
It was really awesome.

Slice some and make healthy grilled sandwiches with it. Buy some Progresso French onion soup and some salad croutons or French bread...cut some mozzarella and make baked French onion soup. Buy some tostadas and pizza sauce. Brown the tostadas, cover with pizza sauce, crush oregano on top, add mozzarella and put under the broiler for a couple of minutes,,,pizza. Look up Triscuits and you'll probably find a whole bunch of ideas for snackies.

Don't waste it. It's sooo good for you and delish!

Simple Caprese salad - Slice up a couple of tomatoes and slice up the cheese. Put a slice of cheese on each tomato slice. Top each stack with a leaf of fresh basil. Drizzle a little olive oil over everything and season with a little ground pepper and sea salt.

Thank you all. I am going to have to print this thread out.

....then get some sleep.

Cut it into bite size chunks and toss with fresh cherry tomatoes, really good olive oil and fresh basil. Eat with a side of fresh, crusty Italian bread and lots of red wine.

You may also give it all to me. I will dispose of that nasty cheese for you.

You can also leave off the cherry tomatoes, forget the olive oil and basil, ditch the mozzarella and crusty bread and just go with an odd year California red.

I second this. Sliced mozzarella on pizza is absolutely delicious.

The process for making real Mozzarella is a filata process which some other cheeses like Provolone for instance uses. They isn't a brining or drying.
Genuine Mozzarella is made from water buffalo milk instead of a cow or sheep. There are some variants of course. Italians take cheese making pretty seriously.

As far as the triscuit thing I did find this in a search
Bruschetta Triscuit Recipe - Food.com
is that what you were looking for?

Make yourself a dang quesadilla!

Ha! My kids, 8 & 10, find that movie hysterical. I didn't think they'd get the humor, but my son laughs himself silly.

I know, I have an 8 year old and we watched it a couple weeks ago and she also thought it was hilarious.

Fresh mozzarella is amazing. Just eat with some high quality extra-virgin olive oil, maybe with some prosciutto and/or fresh basil.

I like it just a little olive oil and fresh cracked black pepper.
