Not sure if this is the best place for it, but????
I like my fish cooked, and the head removed before serving.

US salmon may carry Japanese tapeworm, scientists say - CNN.com

Though this worm was commonly believed to infect only fish in Asia, a study published Wednesday in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's monthly journal Emerging Infectious Diseases says wild salmon caught in Alaska had also been infected by this parasite.
Based on those results, researchers warn that salmon caught anywhere along the Pacific coast of North America may be infected.

Based on the study results, four species of Pacific salmon are known to carry Japanese tapeworm infections: chum salmon, masu salmon, pink salmon and sockeye salmon. Because these salmon are exported on ice -- unfrozen -- and then appear in restaurants around the world, infections caused by the Japanese tapeworm may occur anywhere, from China to Europe, from New Zealand to Ohio.

Hold the fish at -10 degrees for at least 10 hours and you're all set. Or cook it to...shoot... 135, I think? Or maybe 145. Can't remember.

I'll risk it.

I hear the worm is extra. ;)

Hey, if salmon have them, what about all the other fish that are eaten raw?

I'll risk it.

Me too. We love salmon in my house. Eat salmon sushi at least a couple times a month. And when I cook I go medium rare just like steaks. Everyone loves the creaminess of medium rare salmon.

OT but I've also taken to doing tuna steaks pretty much blue. Sear the outside and leave the inside cool. Encrusted with sesame seeds it can't be beat.

I want my fish cooked too and I certainly don't want the dang thing on my plate staring back at me while I eat it.

Oh I agree.

Whatever.

If I see bits of tapeworm in the toilet, I can go to a doc. Treatment is easy and very effective.

There are some good bits on a fish head. Cheeks, collar.

There's plenty of hotel buffets here that serve salmon sashimi. Love it.

I can't stand cooked salmon, its flavor is absolutely disgusting. Raw or cured salmon, however, are excellent. So if I had to eat cooked salmon only, that would simply mean I would stop eating salmon, full stop.
Once BBQ’d a wild salmon- stuffed with lobster and scallops.
Damn fine taste. And I am not one for salmon, much prefer a blackened trout on the grill.
Love haddock, lightly battered, with a cold Pilsner.
