Christmas time is usually when I buy lots of finger foods and just keep them ready in case anybody decides to stop by. I sort of got this from my grandmother, who always kept a large ham, roasted chestnuts, cold cuts, cheese, nuts, candy canes (for the kids) and pies within easy reach at her house during the holidays.
So today I bought canned sardines in oil, salami, edam cheese ball and herb cheese spreads, assorted wheat crackers, a blueberry cheesecake, canned smoked oysters and eel, a large bag of pistachios, walnuts, trail mix and jarred olives which I'll be laying around soon.
Anybody else do this?
