The sauce is too thin in the pic, it needed more flour.
Never been to the UK, but found this short doc about the oldest fast food shop very interesting. Meat pies, and gnarly looking jellied eels. Not for the feint of heart that one.
One thing I could never stomach was faggots and mushy peas

Oh, sorry.
Clicked the link. I don't even recognize most of the ingredients as ingredients:
100 g caul fat, for wrapping
500 g pig's liver, and heart
250 g pork belly
500 g onions, diced
100 g breadcrumbs
20 g fresh sage, chopped
600 ml pork stock
It used to be a very popular dish. In the 1960's there was a faggots and peas restaurant in our town that you sometimes had to queue up for. God knows why, it's a disgusting meal and it seems to be making a comeback.

You are quite daring to take a 'I hate faggots' stance on DP, lol just kidding. Doesn't sound very appetizing, especially the version made with caul, which I learned is a fat-filled wrapping that lines a pigs stomach. Yuck.
Oh btw, have you eaten that jellied eel dish I mentioned earlier? Looks pretty dam scary. Probably give faggots a run for their money.
