This could be an interesting way for people to start turning their lives around and gaining better health:

Could I go vegetarian for two weeks?

I’ve never been a big meat eater, which is a near sacrilege in my home state of Texas. It’s right up there with saying that you don’t like football.

When I was planning a recent trip to India (a country known for its vegetarian cuisine), I had the idea to stop eating animals while I was there – for just more than two weeks.

Would I love it? Would I hate it? Would I be hungry all the time? Lose weight? Gain weight?

The night before I left for India– over a tasty burger dinner –I decided to go vegetarian for two weeks. I said goodbye to meat and hopped on a plane.

"But growing brain size presented a metabolic problem. A gram of brain tissue takes 20 times more energy to grow and maintain than a gram of tissue from the kidney, heart, or liver, she said. Gut tissue is metabolically expensive too — so as brains grew gut sizes shrank.

It’s likely that meat eating “made it possible for humans to evolve a larger brain size,” said Aiello. Early human ancestors probably consumed more animal foods — termites and small mammals – than the 2 percent of carnivorous caloric intake associated with chimpanzees."

According to science, Vegetarianism will lead to larger stomach's and smaller brains on top of tasting like crap. No thanks!

Anything that isn't meat "tastes like crap"??

No sir, anything that tries to mimic the taste of meat, aka veggie burgers, tastes like crap. A vegetable free diet is just as unhealthy as a meat free one. We are omnivores, and top of the food chain for a reason.

And although I am committed to the omnivore lifestyle, I do abhor the current industry standards around raising livestock. I actually only eat wild meat. I have elk, Buffalo, and Moose, filling my freezer as we speak. They had quick semi painless deaths after a long and free life. My chickens come from an Amish farm where they treated as humane as a chicken can be treated.

Obesity is a sugar intake problem. I stopped drinking soda and cut back sugar and bread, lost 65 lbs with normal day to day exercise.

If I had to go veggie for two weeks, I'd hope to be in India or Pakistan! Seriously.

The stuff the Indians do with veggies is amazing (if you like highly seasoned food - I do).

But you'll definitely make up for it with tons of oil! I suppose though, that's what provides a lot of the satisfaction and calories us meat-eaters otherwise demand. But those Indian veggie dishes are really dayem good.

I know a girl who is vegan, and I have to say that she looks really healthy. She's 30 but could pass for 20. She's also one of the most chill people I know, always in a good mood.

A few years ago I cut out a lot of meat and dairy, just because I was feeling ran down, and I lost 10 pounds and felt really good. I also cut out bread and a lot of wheat.
