December approaches. Lots-O-Holidays.
Christmas. Hanukkah. Yule. Kwanzza. Saturnalia. Festivus.

What-cha cookin special for the holidays?

Something traditional? First time attempt? Only have it in December?

Can include main dishes, sides, desserts, drinks.... yeah - don't forget the drinks folks? :party:drink:cheers:

The lamb I cooked was a big hit (except with my son who is a budding vegetarian) so I think we might go for it again this Christmas. When it comes to the holidays, the tried but true strategy is usually the best for me.

Hard to say "no" to that.

We're essentially agnostic. However, my husband was raised Jewish and I was raised in the Methodist church. We celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas and have taught our children the historical significance of each holiday. This year the first night of Hanukkah falls on Christmas Eve so we will have brisket, latkes and green bean casserole before we light our Menorah and sit around the fire pit at the end of our driveway and wait for Santa to come by on the fire truck. Christmas Day dinner will either be ham or prime rib, roasted potatoes and Caesar salad. My mom is making a berry trifle for dessert.

Just took Monkey Bread out of oven. House smells wonderful. I am the only one awake right now.

we're making a crock pot lasagna for a casserole themed Christmas party. i dig slow cooker recipes.

I'm planning lasagna for New Years Eve too. My special recipe. It will combine traditional Italian with modern day American style.

Happy Christmas, y'all!

I'm just about to jump into the car and head out for Xmas dinner with friends; some English, some Spanish, some Australian.

The Spanish influence will be a shellfish platter for starters with lobster, langostinos, gambas and the like. Then trad English roast goose, brussel sprouts, roasties, stuffing and all the trimmings. Plum duff with brandy sauce for dessert.

My contribution is the dessert and my own handmade chocolates.

Eat well, stay happy, whatever festival you're celebrating.
