In the USofA, tomorrow is Thanksgiving.

What NON-TRADITIONAL food(s) you having for Thanksgiving?

We're pretty much sticking to the playbook, but I have been asked to smoke some salmon, so if the weather cooperates there might be that.

What about you? Anything interesting or out of the ordinary being served tomorrow?

Not here unfortunately. Every year I try to change up the menu, but the rest of my crew overrules me.

Tri-tip, vegan cheesecake (cashew cream and pecan crust), tossed salad.

As mentioned in another other thread my granny hates turkey so we're going for leg of lamb with side dishes, and lasagna.

For the fish eating vegetarians walnut encrusted salmon.

One who eats fish is not a vegetarian but a pescatarian. And someone who eats fish that eats other fish is a pescapescatarian.

Not for myself, but I have been told by natives roasted FRUITBAT is traditional in Guam.
They wrap 'em up in leaves and bury 'em in a pit with coals like they do pigs.
Never tried it myself, but I would not mind at least once.

Tomorrow, a traditional turkey celebration at a friend's home. Turkey and all the trimmings, as they say.

We're having an earlynThanksgiving today with Tom's kids. Notmtraditional, since we don't want to rain on others parades.

Before dinner cocktails include LaCrema Chardonnay, Coppola Cabernet, home-made bloody Mary's with V8, Worcestershire, siraccha suace, garlic powder, salt, pepper, horseradish...not too spiced though. Garnished with skewers of large stuffed green olives and lime chunks. Soda and Chocolate milk for the kiddos.

Apps include a small veggie platter with a sour cream onion dip, varietal Ilatian olives served three-up on tiny skewers, Merkt's Swiss almond cheese spread with rye/caroway Triscuits, green grapes, shrimp with cocktail sauce.

Meat/cheese lasagna brought in from Mareno's Italian Restaurant, Meatballs from Portillo's, a homemade salad with three different kinds of lettuce, green onions, zucchini, mushrooms, pepperoni, tiny whole tomatoes, yellow peppers, cheesy Goldfish for croutons, a sprinkling of three-cheese Mexican and Hidden Ranch. Toasted Texas garlic toast.

My sil is bringing a variety of Italian desserts she buys at her local five-star bakery.

Anxious to bring everyone together. There'll be ten of us. I am rehoming some jewelry with my two dils today. One a one ounce Gold Panda made into a beautiful necklace. The other a Lady Liberty styled the same way, but with white gold accents. Both beautiful. I think they'll like them.

PS...I call them family, sil...dils...but it's that family you choose since Tom and I have been together 17 years now. We've never married, both of us by choice. Tom and his family are one of the many blessings I'm thankful for every single year.

Very much looking forward to a special day!
