Do you wok? Stir Fry? Throw it all in there?

I do a mean sweet and sour chicken stir fry. Chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, celery, onion, sesame oil, dash of hotness, all over a bed of Asian noodles...
I marinate the chicken in orange juice and sesame oil for a bit before cooking it too.

What kinds of things do you stir fry? What sauces do you use?

We love to stir fry - lots of vegetables, cubed chicken, and a light soy sauce.

I would love to learn to make different Chinese sauces.

I use it to make Dak Galbi, which is a Korean dish of spicy chicken and veggies. Just chop up some chicken, a little oil, lots of red pepper paste, then add in veggies like chopped cabbage, onion, garlic, string beans and more peppers if you want it spicier. Serve on a bed of steamed rice and youre good to go.

For what it's worth, I have had a couple elderly Chinese ladies tell me to never... ever... use an electric wok. You need one that sits over a gas flame to best obtain and control the proper heat.

The Wok is just a fry pan, you can stir fry in anything. Never use soap on a Wok. There is an Asian seasoning that is an all purpose seasoning but I forget the name of it. It is very potent and aromatic so only a small dash will do. I mix oyster sauce with Lee & Perrin steak sauce for a great tasting steak sauce50-50 blend. I stir fry snow peas, shaved carrots, sliced mushrooms and green onions with pieces of steak in oyster sauce, fresh ginger, black vinegar or soy sauce, cayenne pepper and dark brown sugar mixing all then throwing it on the food just before removing from heat. When mixing the sauce ingredient sample taste so you can decide what % you like before tossing it in to the food. Suggest smoked basmati rice for a nice change. "Atry" brand is the brand I use.

I usually use a package of fresh precut stir fry veggies and chicken. I like to mix up the sauces; sesame ginger, teriyaki and sometime just OJ and soy sauce. No wok here, just a large nonstick fry pan.
