A meat-lovers paradise.

First one I ever went to was in the Bellagio Las Vegas. More locally to me, there's one in Myrtle Beach called Rioz, which is fantastic.

You definitely need an eating strategy when you go, though. Don't fill up on bread. :)

Fogo De Chao in Philly.

Never been. It's like $50 for all you can eat.
I can't eat that much, but from what I've heard it's pretty awesome.

I went to one in Fort Collins....put myself into a meat coma. Seriously, they just keep bringing meat after meat after meat. I call them red light/green light restaurants because typically you have something on your table and usually (OK, I haven't tested this extensively because I haven't been to more than 3 of these in my life...but all 3 were the same) it has a green end and a red end. Green side up means More Meat, red side up means Mercy.

Yep, you absolutely have to pace yourself.

Did one in Chicago eight or ten or so years ago .... took the kids and spouses and everybody ate themselves into a near coma just Ikari said. It was amazing. I would not go again as I no longer can consume such mass quantities of food. But it was memorable and well worth the tab of 50 bucks a head. The appetizer and salad bar would have been enough - it was that spectacular.

There used to be one in my town called The Gaucho. It was great.Hopefully another opens up in town.

Terra Brasilis in Framingham, Massachusetts: This stands to reason given that Framingham is the most Brazilianized city in the US.
For the best Rodizio for the price: Sabor Brasil in Nashua, NH . It's good quality for less than $10 per person.

Unless someone else is paying for it, it's a good idea to avoid the ones that mostly serve a non-Brazilian clientele.

Been to these quite a few times. In chicago, Fogo de Chao is a chain - very good. Brzzazz in Chicago is also good - they dont just have meat, but have grilled shrimp on skewers. Texas de Brasil is OK - not as good as the others.

The best one is Zed451 though. The salad bar is better than any of the others, really great dishes, and they have a rooftop bar for before or after dinner thats really nice to hang out at.

Went to one when I was in Rio and one in Belo Horizonte. Not yet been to an American one for comparison.

Both were incredible, the wait staff were all dressed in traditional wear, the meat selection was impeccable and the salad bar empty.

Yum.

My only problem with them is that the meal tends to end somewhat "prematurely," for all the hype. Lol

I walk in, drop $50 for a table, and 5 to 10 minutes later, I'm already pretty much full. It's just not enough of an "experience" for the cost.

I think Japanese Steakhouses give better "bang for your buck."

PROTIP: avoid any carbs (rice, bread, potatoes, pasta) when you're at a buffet or all you can eat. Stick with meat and veggies.

I've been to several Brazilian churrasco restaurants and I eat all the meats except the liver. There's quite a few in my area- they have an open grill in which the various meats and sausages are on skewers and you just pick which one you like and they bring the entire skewer to your table and slice it in front of you. Yum.

There are a couple good ones down in Atlanta.

If you ever go to one, make damn sure you come hungry. God that stuff is good...

Years ago I went with a buddy of mine to a buffet. His first round was--I kid you not--mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and one of those cheap biscuits.

He proceeded to eat enough carbs for an entire week.

I don't have an appetite for places like that. I never feel like I get my money's worth. Same for buffets.

Well some people can eat a ton of carbs and not feel full, but if you want more bang for your buck (and be a littler wee bit more healthier) then go for the pricier meats. ;)

Eating a lot is predominantly a man thing... :2razz:
