Vegetables Will Replace Meat by 2020—And Millennials Are Driving the Shift

lol

And you still miss the context. Try reading the OP again, in light of the information I provided above.

Maybe you ought to do some "research" within the parameters established in the OP.

"It's biased propaganda!" does not prove anything wrong.

Propaganda is used specifically to mislead people.

What parameters are you talking about? The OP title and article says "Vegetables Will Replace Meat by 2020" and all it cites are some statements by restauranteurs that claim their veggie menus increased by 45%. It doesnt prove anything. In fact it proves nothing but hogwash. You want to keep digging that hole with the OP be my guest but you are proving yourself just as wrong and silly as he is.

I explained it. I recommended you read the OP again, but no...

Here, allow me to spoon feed it to you, like mush:

vegetables will usurp meat as the star of the dinner plate. By 2020, vegetables will assume top billing in the American diet

Please note the bolded, and then the ridiculousness of yours and the previous objections (which you touted so proudly).

For review, just in case you STILL don't get it:

1. Vegetables will not replace meat entirely. They will replace meat as the lead food source.
2. American diet. Not global consumption - which is driven by population and development not sustainable and healthy dietary choices.

Claiming that meat will still be eaten is not relevant.
Claiming that worldwide production and consumption is increasing is not relevant.

Lastly, note that I am not claiming the article to be true. I'm merely pointing out that zyg did not prove anything wrong, and neither did you. You misinterpreted "replace" to mean entirely and you missed the context being the American (not world) diet. You both did that. You even after I pointed this out. Laughable.

First, that's due to development. Second, the article concerns "top billing in the American diet".

Not a total replacement, just the "top billing in the American diet".

You didn't read the OP at all, did you?

Wrong? The guy just spewed crap after completely ignoring the OP. He missed on context (America) and the meaning of "replace" within the article. What a joke that you think he proved anything wrong. Pathetic.

You didn't read the title of this thread?

The biased article is hogwash.

I will bet you that vegetables will not replace meat as the main food source in the USA in four year's time.

I will bet the same. I don't think the article is correct.

Your responses in this thread are still complete BS. You missed the meaning of replace and the context of American diet, and spewed irrelevant crap. Why? Because you read ONLY the title.

Now youre just making things up. Cite to me where in the OP article does it prove "vegetables will be top billing in the American diet".

And while youre at it, please cite your own evidence that veggies will replace meat as top billing in the American diet. :waiting:

Obviously that's all you read.

Oh for the days when this food forum was a friendly discussion of recipes and food. We should have a separate forum for vegan propaganda. Are you familiar with MV's posting history?

I didn't know that you were looking over my shoulder when I read it. How do you do that?

Because you missed the meaning of replace and the context of America. You made claims to counter an imaginary OP.

If you intentionally responded with irrelevant crap, then I guess... good for you.

The article proved nothing, it was an ad for the writer's veggie business.

Got any good recipes?

The livestock sector is projected to adjust to lower feed costs, with stronger producer returns providing incentives for increasing production. Additionally, the pork sector rebounds from reduced production in 2014 that largely reflected effects of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus (PEDv). Production expansions for pork and broilers are projected for the full projection period.
Beef production increases begin in 2018 as near-term declines in output are exacerbated as more heifers are retained to build beef cow inventories rather than fed for slaughter. As a result, totalU.S. red meat and poultry production is projected to rise over the projections period. Milk
production also increases over the next decade.

So much for the vegan propaganda.

Oh for the days when this food forum was a friendly discussion of recipes and food.

Who are you, Martha Stewart? I'm sure you can get all the recipes you want from a cooking magazine.

We should have a separate forum for vegan propaganda.

The article does not mention animal byproducts. The article is about vegetables as compared to meat. So I don't know where you get "vegan" from. Do you not know the difference between vegetarian and vegan?

Are you familiar with MV's posting history?

I'm supposed to care?

Look, you read the title ONLY and then spewed irrelevant crap. I think I've proven this beyond any doubt. Good day.

And the same to you. Live long and prosper.

Leftists are trying to destroy first world nations with climate change nonsense and wealth redistribution so why not try to kill off as many first world humans as possible while they're at it. I'm sure all the livestock, that contributes significantly to atmospheric damage, will be glad to feed the progressives hungry need for taxes once all of us productive humans are banished from the earth. I'm curious though, wondering who will tend to the feeding and nurturing of that same livestock once they are no longer being raised for food consumption? It sure as hell won't be progressives, who do little but preach to others and look after their own selfish needs, and we meat eating conservatives will either be dead or too malnourished to clean up this new **** pile the meddlesome left has created.

Eating more vegetables doesn't kill anyone.

I'm sure all the livestock, that contributes significantly to atmospheric damage,

It's their food, not really them. Agriculture consumes as much oil as transportation because of meat production. Not in producing the cows, in producing their feed.

will be glad to feed the progressives hungry need for taxes once all of us productive humans are banished from the earth. I'm curious though, wondering who will tend to the feeding and nurturing of that same livestock once they are no longer being raised for food consumption?

Why would livestock be bred if not for food production?

You're asking who will take care of all the cows we continue to breed for no reason?
