Only 1 in 5 millennials have tried a McDonald’s Big Mac

By definition, "self-help" means it's not your business unless someone asks you.

The only problem with fast food is eating it all the time. Besides, according to the memo which is the basis of your story, they're not rejecting "fast food"; they're just finding options other than McDonald's.

no one is making you read this thread either. People aren't fat and sick because they eat fast food "once in awhile"

Many U.S. kids eat fast food every day

Yet I did, and I'm free to respond.

Reading. Try it. I didn't say people weren't eating a lot of fast food. What I actually did say is in plain English.

so you just wander into the food section of a self help forum and mutter "mind yer own bizness" to someone who encourages healthy eating. not smart.

You didn't do that.

In any case, as I said, the memo which is the basis for your story doesn't indicate any reduction in fast-food eating.

it shows they're turning away from one the worst ones.

McDonald's

McDonald's

Health-wise, there's nothing significantly worse about McDonald's. And there's no reason to conclude they're "turning away" for reasons of health. Not a thing in that memo supports the idea.

An icon, one of the most delicious fast food products ever invented....but 4 of 5 have never had the pleasure.

SAD!

In other news, 4 in 5 millennials are habitual liars.

Hahah

Well OK, maybe they haven't had a Big Mac, but McDonald's has been on a steady decline for quite some time. Their food is crap. It's not to say that 1 in 5 millennials don't eat fast food. I mean Chipotle or Qdoba probably gets the vast number of them. McDonald's problem is their quality, they bottom lined everything and ended up producing crap.

Not so much on the recipes though some, what they did was not care about the operation of their stores. Very seldom now is the food or service up to the old standards because the workers dont do the job right, and no one cares.

Yup. If you take a look at McD's signature hamburger, it's a product of the 1950's and its small compared to the burgers they dish out nowadays at places like Five Guys or BK. The original McD burger is healthier on account of its smaller size.

I think the way the headline was written was a bit misleading,
They narrow it down to those who have never eaten a big Mac,
a single legacy item on a menu that has been targeting kids for almost a generation.
A better question would be how many millennials have never had a Happy Meal?
I would be surprised, if the number of millennials who never had a happy meal was more than 10%.

This is what I was thinking. Millennials are mainly children and teens. Who gets their child a Big Mac if they go to McDs? I don't. Heck we offered to get my son a Whopper Jr yesterday when he said he wanted lettuce and tomato on his burger, and he said he'd would rather have the kids meal. I don't see either of my sons eating a Big Mac in the next few years even.

This would be good news in Switzerland, where McDonalds is basically the only fast-food available (160 McDonalds & 38 Burger King in the whole country).
No Jack In The Box, no Wendy's, no Carl's Junior, no Two Castles, no Taco Bell etc.

In the U.S however, where you have about 10+ different types of fast foods per gas station, having not tasted a Big Mac doesn't really mean anything.
It only means that people have been busy stuffing their faces with different kinds of crap.

Very tasty crap.

I prefer a healthy diet with a moderate amount of meat.

They are terrible.

I liked them as a kid, but I cannot fathom eating one now. You seem to be something of an amateur chef. How can you enjoy a Big Mac after cooking all sorts of things (including, I presume, proper bacon cheeseburgers)?

They taste like plastic with vague sauce, on squashed bread, with too littlesoggy meatloaf...... to me, at least.

And when their fries are fresh and hot they are delicious.

Didn't they use to put like meat juice or something non-vegetarian into the fries?
