This vegan BBQ pulled mushroom sandwich recipe is so drool-worthy, your carnivore fri

Re: This vegan BBQ pulled mushroom sandwich recipe is so drool-worthy, your carnivore

I'm weird about mushrooms because most of them cultivated for consumption grow on ****. I didn't know they're were some that grew on wood you could eat.

All produce you eat grows in ****. It's just a matter of quantity.

Okay mushrooms grow on nothing but ****. A little bit of manure in decomposed in the soil isn't the sane thing as a fungus that grows on a turd.

It bothers me. I'm not saying is rational or if it even makes sense. It still bothers me.

I think portobellos grow in soil....but yeah, I feel ya.

What I eat are called woodland mushrooms, and they primarily grow on rotting woods.

But, so far as I know, they're mostly in the north east. I think it might be too dry and hot in Texas...but I could be wrong. Worth looking into, for you. They taste amazing...nothing else on earth like them, and frankly, it's just a cool feeling to walk into the woods with nothing, and back out with a bunch of free 25-30 dollar per pound delacacies.

Chanterelles and Penny Buns grow in the local wood. I went on a tour with a local mushroom expert who pointed out the poisonous ones.
