I decided to post some information about the diet that myself, and three other members of my family are currently on. The main reason I want to share it is because it has been a major weight loss diet without having to starve yourself or exercise more. I've been on the Keto diet for almost 3 months now and I have lost 25 pounds. My wife has been on the diet for 3 months as well, and she has lost 27 pounds (she pays attention to calories). My mother, who is diabetic, has been on the diet for just over 2 months and has lost 17 pounds, and my sister started at the same time as her and has lost almost 20 pounds.

The diet is high-fat and low-carb. The biggest advantage I have experienced is that I am never hungry, but I am still losing weight. Another advantage of running off of fat instead of carbs is that your blood pressure remains steady through out the day. It has been an absolute blessing for my mother in that sense. Anyways, if anyone is looking to lose weight, but still eat meat and cheese I encourage you to give it a look!

Keto Diet

Badnews, peanuts are high carb, Mr. Peanut.

The Keto Diet is almost the same as the Atkins Diet, right. Not a bad diet if you like meat, cheese, eggs and pork rinds. It's probably a very healthy diet, except for pigs, cows, chicken, turkeys, bison, elk and fish. ;)

I measure by net carbs (carbs-fiber) so some brands of nuts are still good. In fact I have peanuts or almonds with my breakfast just about every day. It is essentially the Atkins diet only the carbs don't increase over time. You start with something like <25 carbs a day and that is what you stick with.

My question: wouldnt this diet be more expensive due to all the meat you buy?
