What Acclaimed Author of How Not to Die Wants Us to Eat to Avoid an Early Death

not if they aren't allowed to eat it and are fed crap in feed lots.

Have they genetically modified a cow so that it can eat grain instead of grass for all of its life? I have not heard of such a beast, and I have no idea why anyone would want to make such a beast, because grass is cheaper than grain.

Most cows start out on pasture, drinking milk and eating grass. However, conventionally raised cows are later moved to feedlots and fed grain-based feeds, while grass-fed cows may continue to live on grassland.Bottom Line: Grass-fed beef may contain slightly less total fat than grain-fed beef, but a lot more Omega-3 fatty acids and CLA, which are both very beneficial for health.

If I want Omega-3 I will take a very cheap fish based pill as I do now, and CLA is not important enough to make USDA guidelines so I dont care. I will take chunks of the Deliriously Delicious Cows tyvm.

Walnuts, sardines, salmon and beef are good sources of omega 3.

And when it comes to CLA

Dairy products are the richest source of CLA, providing about 70% of total dietary CLA, compared to 25% from beef and smaller amounts from other ruminants.2

and like most things about eating science have not figured out if it is good for us or not.

I am not going to eat poor quality cows for either CLA or Omega-3.

so you're basically out of touch on the way americans feed animals raised for meat.

Humans are bad for the planet. Let me know please when we get serious about planetary health, you will know because we will be doing something to keep the human populations to levels that the Earth can sustainably carry. We are no where nears yet, so forgive me if I refuse to eat crap food based upon the argument that we need to save the planet.
