The Story of a 78-Year-Old Vegan Bodybuilder - Jim Morris: Lifelong Fitness -

You have zero clue what you're talking about. Bodybuilders lift. It's what they do. The reason they can usually lift more than other people is because of that.

And I guarantee you that there are non vegan lifters who could easily lift more than that guy, and they're drug free.

It's not the diet.

You are expecting truth in a propaganda thread?

One wonders how far along the OP is in looking like Mr. Olympia through his vegan diet.

I've been lifting and running marathons for decades. thanks for your interest.

Oh no doubt. No doubt. One ought not expect puffery to be a common attribute among the eccentric on the internet.

Ah, silly me. Interjecting reality in a thread meant as a prop for an agenda.

I'll never learn.

what's the agenda? do you think someone's going to yank the burger out of your greedy maw?

I'm not. I'm just wondering how you managed to observe his every meal for all those years.

you can't even stop posting on a thread you aren't even interested in . :)

You've been ok for a while but now you're back to the insulting MV. What is the matter with you? You've been in trouble here once for that sort of behaviour. Let's keep it civil please.

There are so many variables at play when it comes to just how fit and healthy one might be at age 78, (or whether one is still alive at 78) it's not even funny.

In descending order of importance to your longevity;

A: Genetics
Your family history, and how long your ancestors tended to live, and what shape they were in when they were at a give age.

B: Life-long lifestyle
How fit and active you have remained, consistently, throughout your life time?

C: Geography
Where do you reside, and what are the disease risk factors for where you have made your home?

D: Live-long substance choices
Have you avoided abusing narcotics, prescription drugs, tobacco, and excessive amounts of alcohol?

E: Life-long diet choices
Have you eaten a reasonably-healthy diet, and avoided excesses (in any given direction) of sodium, fat, and preservatives?

and lastly,
F: Recent, late-in-life fad diet and fitness choices
Being a recent convert to (pick one) veganism, vegetarianism, low-carbism, low sodium diets, Atkins, Mediterranean, Paleo, Fit-Bit, P90x, Bowflex, and Cross-Fit......
Unlikely to turn the tide of genetics, lifelong fitness norms, and lifelong diet choices.

Thanks for your time and attention.

I have to go grill a steak now.
A ribeye, medium rare.
With a nice glass of Australian Shiraz.

That seems to be the vegan concern. Most other people don't care what you eat. It's the religous ideology that goes with it that is disturbing.

This food forum is going downhill again.

What burger? Just pointing out idiocy of imply that Veganism somehow, magically, leads to bigger lifts.

I doesn't. Sorry.

And I'm sure that you haven't got a maw. That guy can lift because he is a bodybuilder and not because he is an alleged vegan.

who said that? bodybuilding isn't about "big lifts"
